Selena Gomez Wants Fans To Know She’s A New Woman

Selena Gomez wants all her fans to know she’s a new woman as she returns to the limelight after a three-month break to deal with admitted burn out.

The sultry “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer recently opened up about some of what she has had to deal with over her child star career, sharing one of the first things she now does each morning after rising out of bed is to “take a deep breath.”

As much as anything, the 24-year-old Gomez hinted that her lengthy hiatus was about rediscovering herself as she reassessed all the people she had allowed into her inner circle and took stock of the things that bring her contentment as opposed to only more drama.

For the entire 90-day period when she was away from the spotlight and under treatment, Gomez insists she did not have her cell phone with her and felt as liberated and calm as she can remember.

Gomez recently made her return to the big stage with an appearance at the American Music Awards, where besides winning her first AMA, she delivered an inspirational speech during which she admitted there was a time when she felt completely “broken inside.”

Fans may recall Gomez openly cried for all to see during a live 2014 AMA performance with on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber. Soon after that, she canceled her long-scheduled “Revival World Tour” and all but vanished from the spotlight.

Nowadays, Gomez insists she finds strength in such quotes as “You are not what happened to you, you are what you chose to become after what happened to you.”

She adds she also takes great solace in such simple pleasures as cooking and taking a nap.

Whatever she’s doing still seems to be working just fine as she was recently crowned 2016’s most popular celebrity on Instagram for the second year in a row with more than 103 million followers.

The singer/actress also accounted for eight of the top 10 most-liked celebrity photos on the platform, with her Coca-Cola ad snapshot registering nearly 6 million likes on its own.

Even after not posting for more than three months, Gomez beat out such social media heavyweights as Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Kim Kardashian for top honors.

Gomez and Bieber first began publicly dating back in 2011 and have had several spirited breakups amid rumors of unfaithfulness that have largely played out on social media.

In 2012, the pair suffered through their first public split, leaving Bieber to openly reflect, “I don’t know what’s going on in my life.”

By 2013, the two were releasing tribute songs to one another, and not long after they were again a couple and virtually inseparable. But by 2014, public split No. 2 had happened.

A year or so after that, Bieber was openly serenading Gomez with renditions of The Temptations “My Girl” and the two again appeared to be feeling all the love.

All the public drama may now have Bieber reassessing a few things as well. At a recent performance in London, he branded all of Instagram as “hell” and for all intents and purposes swore off the platform.

In between all the false starts with Bieber, Gomez has also been rumored to be romantically linked to Niall Horan, Jedd, Samuel Krost, Taylor Lautner, Nick Jonas, Charlie Puth, and Orlando Bloom, who once infamously engaged in a fistfight with Bieber presumably over Gomez.

Meanwhile, Bieber has most recently been linked to Hailey Baldwin and Sophia Richie. The two “Baby” singer exes can now be seen hanging out among the super models on the pages of the new advent calendar.
