Luke Bryan Reveals Why He Punched A Fan

Luke Bryan has released a statement explaining why he punched a fan during a concert on Wednesday night in Nashville.

Bryan apparently got angry after a fan flipped him off while he was performing on stage. The country music singer was flipped off while performing the song “Move” and rather than just ignore it, the artist decided to take a step close to the edge of the stage, seemingly walking towards the disrespectful fan and proceeded to punch him. Fortunately, the incident was recorded on video, clearly showing how things unfolded.

“A man in the front row was making crude hand gestures toward Luke during his performance. It was insulting not only to him but more importantly to the men, women and families sitting around him who were there to support and celebrate Charlie Daniels and the efforts of raising money for the military veterans- some of who were in the audience” Bryan’s representative explained.

The video footage reveals that the man who got punched was indeed flipping off the country music artist. Bryan was offended by the act and he felt that it was disrespectful, thus his decision not to hold back. He then resumed his entertaining performance as if nothing just happened. Luke was still holding on to the microphone the entire time.

“The concert security personnel saw the man’s disruptive actions of the event and he was escorted out,” the statement pointed out.

Bryan’s reaction was quite interesting considering that he is known to be a relatively calm person and not violent at all. According to a report from Rolling Stone, there were two men involved in the incident. One was holding up a sign with the words “we can see your camel toe” in reference to Bryan’s tight jeans. The man whom Bryan punched was reportedly taunting the artist before the incident took place.

Props to Bryan for keeping calm and continuing with his performance. The security personnel also prevented the situation from escalating by escorting the man that was punched by the country music artist and removed him from the premises. The video footage of the incident has already been uploaded on the internet. It is not clear whether it will lead to negative publicity for the artist, though celebrities often find themselves on the receiving end of such controversy. Social media also happens to buzz with comments especially of how celebrities should conduct themselves.

Bryan was performing at the Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam concert, which has been a traditional event since the 1970s. Some of the proceeds from the event are usually donated to U.S war veterans through Journey Home Project. This year’s concert was also special because it marked Daniel’s 80th birthday. It featured performances from 3 Doors Down, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, and Chris Stapleton, thus living up to its all-star title.

Brian’s performance continued blissfully despite the unanticipated interruption but he believes that he handled it in the best way. He clearly did not like being bullied and hitting the man who was flipping the bird at him was a clear message that he does not take nonsense from anyone. The rest of the event went on without any more incidents thus causing Bryan to be the subject of controversy because of his unusual stunt. Such incidents are quite rare though, but he is not the first artist to have an altercation with a fan while performing. Some just usually keep performing and leave the roughing up to the security team.

The country music singer’s argument in the statement suggests that he took direct action because he felt that it was wrong for the rude fellow to do what he did considering that it was a family-themed event.
