Kenya Moore Dishes On Cynthia Bailey’s Divorce: ‘I Just Had To Support Her Either Way’

Kenya Moore has become close friends with Cynthia Bailey over the last couple of years. Even though the two haven’t always seen eye-to-eye on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, it sounds like the two women can put the past behind them and move on. And surprisingly, Kenya has been a huge support system for Cynthia as she decided to file for divorce and move on from her failed marriage. While Moore may have hoped that Bailey could work out her marital problems, she stands behind her friend no matter what her decision may be.

According to a new Bravo report, Kenya Moore is now revealing that she had nothing to do with encouraging Cynthia to file for divorce. In fact, Kenya claims that she has been a supportive friend who will be there for Bailey no matter what her decision ended up being at the time. And while Kenya has always done what is right for, she expects that her co-star does nothing less for herself, even if it means ending her marriage on a successful reality television show.

“I think that Cynthia has to do what’s right for Cynthia. If that means staying with Peter and that makes her happy, I’m happy for her. If that means divorcing Peter, and that makes her happy, I’m behind her,” Kenya Moore explains about Cynthia Bailey’s decision to file for divorce in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, adding, “I think that it’s a personal choice. I have nothing to say either way as long as my friend who I love is happy.”

When Cynthia announced that her marriage was over, some people were shocked. The two had gotten married on The Real Housewives of Atlanta in a ceremony that had been very dramatic, as Bailey’s family wanted to hide the marriage certificate. While Kenya Moore wasn’t filming the show at the time, one can imagine she was shocked when she watched the episode. But Moore was around when Peter was caught up in a cheating video that was shared on Instagram, something that was devastating to Cynthia. So when she decided to announce that she was filing for divorce, Kenya Moore wasn’t surprised.

“I don’t think that Cynthia announcing that she was divorcing was surprising to me because I just knew a lot of how her marriage was going. Of course we talk on and off-camera. We’re really friends. We hang out together, whether there’s a camera around or not,” Kenya Moore explained in her interview with The Daily Dish, adding, “It was just a personal choice, and I just had to support her either way.”

Of course, Kenya isn’t the first person to be a support system during a divorce, as Porsha Williams has been a support system for Phaedra Parks on The Real Housewives of Atlanta as Parks filed for divorce recently. She learned that her husband had been lying to her about his business dealings and when he was sentenced to eight years behind bars for fraud and identity theft, she left him.

“With anyone who’s going through a divorce, there are so many colors and layers. I think at some point you’re upset, some point you’re sad, some point you’re happy, some point you’re not sure whether or not you want to go through with it. I think it’s just a gamut of emotions that you go through. I don’t know if you know what it is unless you’re actually going through it,” Kenya Moore explains about her decision to stand by her friend, no matter what emotions she may be experiencing.

What do you think of Kenya Moore’s comments about Cynthia’s divorce? Do you think she’s being a good friend by being there for her?
