Travis Fimmel let fans know Season 5 is currently being filmed in Ireland and the cast and crew are hoping Vikings will be renewed for Season 6.

Part of Season 4 Part 2 of Vikings will deal with Ragnar returning to England to confront King Ecbert about his betrayal of Ragnar when he destroyed a Viking settlement in England he had promised to let flourish. While Linus Roache fell short of saying there would be a battle between Ragnar and Ecbert, he did reveal there would be a “very interesting meeting” between the two rulers in Season 4 Part 2 of Vikings.

Linus Roache describes the meeting between King Ecbert and Ragnar Lothbrok in Season 4 Part 2 of Vikings as the greatest challenge so far for himself as an actor, as well as for his character. While Vikings showrunner, Michael Hirst, wrote the script for this scene, both Linus Roache and Travis Fimmel had a lot of input as well, as Roache explains.

“A lot of thought went into how we are going to pull this off, what do these two men do when they confront each other. And, Michael was part of it, we were. Travis had a lot of very good and strong ideas. I had a lot of good and strong ideas. So, we butted heads quite a lot. But it was all for the sake of the show.”

Travis Fimmel points out that he and Roache had only had a couple of scenes prior to this one in Season 4 Part 2 of Vikings and they were excited to collaborate together again. Fimmel revealed that the pair will shares scenes in a couple of episodes in the second half of Season 4.

Roache has also revealed this big confrontation between Ragnar and Ecbert will take place behind closed doors, with no one else present. It will be interesting to see if just such a conversation can take place between two of the world’s greatest leaders at the time, without one killing the other.

The course of this confrontation will be broken up and span across two episodes, in a conversation that will take close to an hour, according to the actors. However, they believe viewers will be entertained by the confrontation and not at all bored.

While Season 4 Part 2 of Vikings premieres on Wednesday, November 30, Fimmel and Roache would not reveal which episodes contained the big confrontation between Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert, so fans will just have to tune in on Wednesday to see what happens next.
