‘Teen Mom OG’ Tyler Baltierra Blames Dad, Butch’s Arrest On Drugs, ‘I Think He Relapsed’

Teen Mom OG star Tyler Baltierra’s worst fears came true when his father, Butch was arrested after missing a parole meeting, Radar Online reported.

During part one of the Teen Mom OG reunion show, Catelynn Lowell’s husband revealed that his father might have relapsed before his shocking arrest last month.

“He was doing fine I guess, and then he missed a parole meeting, and his parole officer wanted to violate him so now he’s in jail,” Tyler explained. “He’s supposed to be off parole in 90 days. He came back from his parole meeting the week before all excited and proud of himself.”

Tyler was quick to admit that he thinks his father may be “afraid of his own freedom,” but also confessed that he thought drugs had a role in his recent arrest.

“I know exactly what’s going on,” Baltierra admitted. “I think he’s using. I think he was using drugs or he relapsed.”

Baltierra says he’s picked up on a few of the signs that he may be using drugs again. For example, he noticed that he was sleeping later in the day and not coming home quite as often.

Butch, 54, was locked up in St. Clair County Jail for six days last month for a parole violation. He had just celebrated his one-year anniversary of freedom for the charge of breaking and entering, in addition to a larceny charge.

In the Teen Mom OG sneak peak video (above), Catelynn called Butch to remind him of the appointment, and he told her he was “on his way to the meeting.” Less than 24 hours later, Butch called Tyler to tell him he was arrested and wasn’t sure how long he would be in jail.

“Well Guess what? Dad’s in prison,” Baltierra tells Catelynn. “He’s in jail. He missed his parole meeting for the first time—isn’t that a little weird?” Tyler goes on to say that his father never misses his parole meetings and says he’s not sure how long he will be in jail this time.

Tyler was quick to come to the conclusion that his father was using drugs again, In Touch Weekly reported. He didn’t believe his behavior was normal and stated that he either relapsed or he was using at the time of his arrest.

Baltierra explained that his father was arrested for driving with a suspended license, which is a violation of his parole. Lowell posted a photo to Snapchat stating that Butch was out of jail in early November.

There’s never a dull moment in Catelynn and Tyler’s life lately. Just a few days ago, Teen Mom OG fans speculated that Lowell could be expecting her third child. Wet Paint reported that Catelynn is not pregnant, adding that the reality TV couple has no plans to expand their family for quite a few years.

“After just recovering from postpartum depression coupled with the fact that I’m on birth control, Tyler and I are not and will not be expecting for a few more years,” Lowell stated.

Baltierra has enough on his plate with his father that may or may not be back on drugs, a wife that suffers depression, and a young child. Lowell feels the last thing Baltierra needs is another child thrown into the mix.

It’s probably a wise decision not to have a child so soon, especially after Lowell just got her postpartum depression under control thanks to an inpatient treatment center, therapy, and the support of her loving family.
