Catelynn Baltierra Anxiety: How Her ‘Teen Mom’ Story Prevented A Suicide

Catelynn Baltierra decided to open up about her anxiety struggles on this season of Teen Mom, and she was open about getting help at a treatment center in Arizona. Some people were shocked that she was smoking weed to deal with her anxiety and lying to viewers about how much she was smoking, but her husband, Tyler Baltierra, was proud of her for sharing her story.

While Catelynn has been the poster child for open adoptions on Teen Mom — she’s the only person who has given up a child for adoption — she’s now becoming the role model for people who are dealing with anxiety. And it sounds like she may have saved a life.

According to a new tweet, Catelynn Baltierra is now learning that she may have prevented a suicide by sharing her story. It’s no secret that Catelynn, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, and Chelsea Houska have all prevented the increase of teenage pregnancies since Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 started airing, but Baltierra may be inspiring people in a different way.

“This season, Catelynn Lowell sought professional help for her anxiety & depression. She’s come so far,” MTV teased on Twitter, to which one fan of the show wrote a shocking confession.

“It aired right as I had committed to my own suicide.”

On the Teen Mom OG reunion last night, Catelynn Baltierra and her husband revealed that they had received plenty of social media hate on this season of the show because of the way Tyler had spoken to Catelynn Baltierra. But Catelynn is now revealing that the Twitter haters should read her follower’s story about how the show had helped her through a hard time.

“For all you haters! THIS IS WHY I am so open!!! Thank you Mary because this world would be way darker without you in it!!” Catelynn Baltierra replied back to the follower, revealing that her story does inspire and help people.

Mary replied, “Thank you Cate. That means a lot. I’m getting better one day at a time. Psychiatrist has helped a lot. I pray you’re right. It’s tough. This time of year sucks BC at 16 the day after Christmas I signed adoption papers.”

Of course, Baltierra was the only person who has given her daughter up for adoption when she was born around six years ago. They have shared the emotional sides of giving up a child for adoption, and Catelynn has struggled with the decision for a while. But on Teen Mom, she also revealed that she had been struggling with mental illness. Dr. Drew has been very open and honest about what he could do to help, but she doesn’t seem too eager to follow up with the assistance offered to her.

“To all of you mommas who chose adoption, you ate very special people! Don’t EVER forget that! You gave your child a gift at the cost of your own heart breaking into a million pieces!! You did what was best for your child, don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise!!! You have a very special heart, one that gave THE best gift to not only your child but a whole family!!” one person wrote to Catelynn Baltierra after learning about how her story had influenced a person, while another added, “love ur openness. I’ve been where u have been before and it takes such courage to share it with the world. Ur saving lives!”

What do you think of Catelynn Baltierra’s story possibly saving a life? Are you surprised that she was so open and honest about her anxiety, which resulted in someone possibly giving life a second chance?
