Brandi Glanville Apologizes For Offensive Nativity Photo, Tells Haters To ‘Check In With Our Lord’

Brandi Glanville is speaking out regarding an offensive nativity scene photo that she posted as a joke. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has issued a statement about the controversial, now-deleted nativity scene pic, which showed her pretending to give birth to baby Jesus in a manger. In a statement to the website Real Mr. Housewife, Glanville revealed that she is a Christian and that she is sorry for the stunt.

“It was meant to be a joke, Brandi told the site.

“I’m Christian and grew up Lutheran. It wasn’t meant to be a big deal. God has forgiven me and it’s time to get over it.”

In addition to her statement, Brandi Glanville posted an apology on Twitter, admitting that the joke photo of her pretending to give birth to the son of God was in poor taste. Brandi also called out trolls who are still spewing hate towards her and told them they may want to “check in with our Lord!”

Glanville later hinted that a good thing may have come out of her bad joke. Brandi even teased a job offer in the aftermath of the controversy, and she also gave a shout out to friends who are around “in the good and the challenging times.”

Last week, Brandi Glanville faced major backlash after she posted a Facebook pic that showed her squatting over baby Jesus in a manger in a life-sized nativity scene. Glanville captioned the photo with, “Never forget the reason for the season #sweetchildomine #gunsnroses #sandiego #oldtown. It’s no surprise that Brandi’s controversial photo was quickly slammed by her followers. According to ET Canada, some commenters accused Brandi of looking for attention, while others called the mom of two “stupid” for thinking the post was funny. Other outraged critics described the photo as “offensive,” “disrespectful,” and “a new low” for Glanville.

At first, Brandi was on the defense. Her initial reaction to the backlash came via a Twitter post in which she wrote, “People need to chill the f**k out and take a joke.”

After she took the photo down, Brandi told a commenter that she only removed the pic because her mom told her to.

Of course, Brandi Glanville has never shied away from controversy. The reality star turned bestselling author and wine entrepreneur has long made headlines for her ongoing feud with her ex-husband’s current wife, LeAnn Rimes. Brandi also burned several bridges (most notably with queen bee Lisa Vanderpump) when she departed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last year.

In an interview with Broadly, Brandi admitted that many Housewives fans turned on her because the show frequently portrayed her as a villain.

“At the end of the day, everyone will have their turn as a villain,” Glanville said of the hit reality franchise. “They bring you up just to bring you down. It just depends if it’s your season or not. I see it on every franchise—inevitably everyone has their turn.”

Brandi also said that her true personality was not always shown on the Bravo reality show and that by the end of her three-season stint as a “main Housewife,” she was ready to go.

“I became a little depressed and upset about the way I was being portrayed, because I shot so many other scenes that were fun and lighthearted but they weren’t shown,” Brandi told Broadly. “Honestly, in the end, I was really, really over it.”
