We all saw how pointless Donald Trump’s “October surprise” was yesterday, and celebrity attorney Gloria Allred’s bombshell concerning Mitt Romney doesn’t seem like it will amount to much either.

Allred has been battling in court to get Mitt Romney’s testimony from a 90s divorce case unsealed, and, this morning, Boston-area judge Jennifer Ulwick granted that request, reports Radar. Romney’s testimony, given during Staples founder Tom Stemberg’s divorce, could reportedly damage Romney’s election chances.

However, the judge’s decision to release the documents came after Romney’s attorneys reviewed the transcript and signed off on their release, reports ABC News. This, of course, leads to speculation that Allred’s “October surprise” for Mitt Romney will fall as flat as Donald Trump’s own widely-mocked effort to pain incumbent President Obama in a negative light.

In any case, the documents are set to be unveiled shortly, and speculation has suggested that Romney’s testimony could involve damaging references to Bain Capital and Staples, with some media outlets reporting that the testimony involves controversial statements on the issue of abortion.

“This is a decades-old divorce case in which Mitt Romney provided testimony as to the value of a company,” his lawyer, Robert Jones, said in a statement. “He has no objection to letting the public see that testimony.”

We won’t know what the documents contain until the Boston Globe releases them later today, but, like Fox News‘s general avoidance of Donald Trump’s “October surprise,” it’s possible that when journalists review Mitt Romney’s testimony, they may decide to pass on it if it’s generally scandal free. Allred herself may be spared the mockery afforded to fellow “whistle-blower” Donald Trump.
