One Direction News: Liam Payne’s New Music ‘Coming Soon,’ Niall Horan Confirms Reunion Plans

One Direction fans can let out a sigh of relief after two huge bombshells have been dropped: Liam Payne has confirmed he will be releasing new music soon, and Niall Horan confirmed that the band has not parted ways permanently.

Both members of One Direction have remained in the spotlight since the group announced their hiatus last fall. Payne has engaged in a very public relationship with singer and X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole, and the two have been the subject of pregnancy rumors for months. Liam has also been teasing his future solo music career via social media, releasing snippets of songs and pictures of himself in the studio on Instagram.

In a rare appearance without Cheryl by his side, Liam stepped out at the I Am Bolt premiere today and walked the red carpet, as reported by Just Jared. Payne took the opportunity to promote the film, tweeting his excitement.

Payne also spent some time on the red carpet chatting with One Direction fans and taking pictures. In one exchange with a fan, which she then posted to Twitter, Liam confirms that he has new music “coming soon.”

In the video, the fan thanks Liam for taking a photo with her, then asks him if he has “new music coming any time soon.” Payne responds “it’s coming soon,” which is great news to anyone looking forward to more music from the One Direction member.

Liam previously announced this summer that he had signed a solo recording contract with Capitol Records. He attempted to dissuade One Direction fans’ fears by following up with a tweet that read: “One direction will always be my home and family but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings.”

Liam Payne also teased new songs on Instagram, including a steamy track that hints at a threesome and name-drops Bugatti Sports.

He also teased a longer cut of another track more recently. The song features Payne’s signature falsetto vocals that he often utilized in his time in One Direction.

Niall, on the other hand, has skipped the teasing and moved straight into releasing solo music. Horan’s solo single “This Town” has charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and the One Direction singer has performed it at the American Music Awards and the Jingle Ball tour.

In exciting news for One Direction fans, Horan confirmed that the band would definitely be reunited. Niall spoke to Sunday People about the hiatus, as reported by Billboard.

“We will be back. We would be silly not to… ridiculous. At the moment we are all doing our own thing. Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling… I don’t think anyone needs to worry about us, we are fine.”

The movie that Niall is referring to is Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, which features Harry Styles in a supporting role. Audiences can see and judge Harry’s performance for themselves when Dunkirk premieres next July.

This is not the first time that Niall has gone out of his way to confirm a future One Direction reunion. In September, Entertainment Weekly reported that Niall told Ryan Seacrest that the band had plans to reunite.

“Everyone’s kind of doing their own things. I still talk to them all the time, but I definitely wouldn’t rule it out.”

While Niall has yet to provide a predicted date for the One Direction reunion, he has made sure to assure fans that it is coming soon, not decades from now. In October as reported in Entertainment Weekly, Niall spoke with Graham Norton about One Direction possibly getting back together.

“For now, in the moment, we are kinda doing our own thing. I’m doing [“This Town”], Harry’s doing a movie. Harry did a movie. You know, we’re all doing our own bits and pieces. Can’t really put a date on it, but it’s not gonna be 50 years away. It’s in the foreseeable [future].”

Between Liam Payne’s solo music and Niall Horan’s news about a One Direction reunion, it looks like there is a lot more to come from the five lads.
