Kelly Bensimon Apologizes On Behalf Of Bravo And ‘RHONY’ In Awkward Video With Her Kids

Kelly Bensimon decided to leave The Real Housewives of New York over four seasons ago. It was during the third season that Kelly and Bethenny Frankel got into a heated argument during a cast trip that resulted in Kelly having a breakdown of sorts. While Bensimon called it a breakthrough due to systematic bullying, her co-stars were worried about her mental health. Bethenny left the show after the third season, but Bensimon continued to face uphill battles on the fourth season of the show. She was eventually fired in a huge cast shake-up, and she has since talked about her role on the show.

According to a new tweet, Kelly Bensimon is now revealing how she’s feeling about being without a reality show in her life. For some reason, Kelly recently began tweeting a lot about The Real Housewives of New York, and fans are confused as to why. Usually, when previous stars on the show start talking about it again, it’s because they are ready to start filming again. But Kelly doesn’t have nice things to say, and she filmed a video where she issued an apology on behalf of the Bravo network and the Real Housewives franchise.

“I can’t change what you think of me, but I can be the best version of me,” Kelly Bensimon revealed in a Twitter video she shared last night, where she apologized on behalf of Bravo and The Real Housewives of New York for exploiting mental illness on reality television.

In the video, Kelly Bensimon is sitting on her couch at home with her two daughters surrounding her. Fans were quick to point out that the video is awkward and should have been filmed without her daughters around.

“Look at this video and SEE how uncomfortable your girls look! Again, please seek help if just for them. You’re NOT okay! You brought this up again and have been tweeting for hours. This appears to be manic behavior – even the way you’re speaking!” one person wrote back to Kelly Bensimon, while another added, “[W]ow… just wow. Your kids look miserable. Andy Cohen, have you seen this?”

One person was a bit more judgmental in responding, writing, “Please tell me you didn’t use your kids to spout that craziness. Are you having another breakdown?”

Even though some people felt that Bensimon was wrong in filming this video with her children, Kelly was quick to reach out to the people who offered support for what she had been through. It’s no secret that she has struggled with her portrayal on the show, but some fans are confused as to why this is happening years later.

“Ty! tweeties for not giving me a safe place to talk about things that really bother me. I will not discuss anything personal in the future,” Kelly Bensimon replied to all of the people who had reached out to her after her many tweets about her moving on from The Real Housewives of New York.

“Why are people so hateful? IMO Kelly is very down to earth and inspiring..some might be jealous or aren’t happy w/ their life,” one fan wrote back to Bensimon, to which Kelly thanked her, writing back, “Love you for defending me. It means a lot!! My kids and I have dealt with so much anger. It’s not cool!”

What do you think of Kelly Bensimon’s video with her daughters? Do you think she included her daughters because they are subjected to bullies and mean people thanks to her role on The Real Housewives of New York years ago?
