News of the accident came via the Twitter feed of the show’s executive producer, Mike Fleiss. In a message to his 29,000 followers, Fleiss revealed that several crew members and next Bachelor Sean Lowe had been in the vehicle when it crashed but added that nobody was harmed:

“Sean and several of my beloved producers were in a car accident yesterday. Thank God everyone is OK … We’ve had more emergencies this season than ever… Whew!”

There are few further details available right now — even the location of the crash is a mystery, with the show being filmed around the world — but we do know that host Chris Harrison was driving at the time, thanks to Fleiss tweeting:

“Thanful [sic] that everyone is ok after the car crash. Never letting @chrisbharrison get behind the wheel again…”

Busted! But could the crash be referred to in the next Bachelor series? It would seem to be ideal reality TV fodder, so let’s not rule it out.

Sean Lowe was announced as the next Bachelor last month. He takes over the role from California winemaker Ben Flajnik, who finished his run on the show with a proposal to model Courtney Robertson (though that relationship has already hit the rocks).

Reality TV stars haven’t had much luck with vehicles this past week. Over the weekend, Brittany Taltos, who appeared on a few episodes of Jersey Shore and Bachelor Pad, was seriously hurt when a pickup truck drove over her head. Fortunately, despite receiving bruises and cuts on her face and some ear canal damage, Taltos escaped the incident without any brain damage.
