WWE News, Spoilers: Two Huge Title Matches Highlight ‘Monday Night Raw’ In Flair Country

When it comes to wrestling, Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of the best places in the world for it. It is the place that many fans affectionately call “Flair Country” due to the one and only “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, but his family is making a name for themselves as well. Charlotte Flair will defend her Raw Women’s Title against Sasha Banks this week on Monday Night Raw, but it won’t be the only championship match taking place.

The official website of WWE released their preview for this week’s Monday Night Raw, and there are indeed two big championship matches on the card. There is a lot on the line this week and actually, three superstars could leave Charlotte on Monday with gold around their waists.

Raw Women’s Championship collision in The Queen City

Last month, Charlotte Flair defeated Sasha Banks inside the demonic cage structure at Hell in a Cell to capture the Raw Women’s Title. Making matters worse for “The Boss” is that she lost her title in front of her hometown of Boston and she’d love to give the same payback to Flair.

On last week’s Monday Night Raw, Charlotte teamed with Nia Jax to take on Banks and Bayley, but it didn’t end up with the best result. The finish of the match saw Flair tapped out to Banks’ use of the Bank Statement, and everyone knows what that means.

Yeah, it isn’t likely that the Raw Women’s Title will change hands on Monday, but anything is possible.

Is the sun setting on The New Day?

One of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history is one named Demolition who has the record for holding the WWE (then WWF) Tag Team Titles for 478 days. The New Day is quickly approaching that record and could very well surpass it, but some big obstacles are standing in their way this week on Monday Night Raw.

The New Day will have to fight hard to hold onto their titles as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson look to take them as their own. It’s going to be a tough battle for the championship which will see new title holders or The New Day get ever-so-much closer to the record.

An altogether different “Gift of Jericho”

Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens battled in the Raw event for the Universal Championship and it ended with Chris Jericho interfering while wearing a Sin Cara mask. Jericho was banned from ringside during this match as was Roman Reigns, but it didn’t stop Y2J from making sure he helped out his best friend.

The preview for this week’s episode states that Seth Rollins is going to bring his wrath to Raw, but for who? Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho are both going to be in his sights and if he wants to take them both on, he will need some back-up.

The Brian Kendrick’s Swann song

As recapped by the official website of WWE, a new number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship was decided last week on Raw. Rich Swann won a Triple Threat Match to earn the right to face off with The Brian Kendrick, and they will battle it out this week.

Some think this could be Kendrick’s last night with the Cruiserweight Title but as fans have seen, he is willing to do anything to hold onto his belt. The preview from WWE states that Monday night could be the last time that Kendrick has the title as he may very well lose it the next night.

As reported by Wrestling Inc., the premiere of 205 Live will take place on Tuesday night on the WWE Network. That premiere will be headlined by the Cruiserweight Championship Match between Kendrick and Swann which will air after SmackDown LIVE.

Nude awakening for Enzo Amore & Big Cass

It’s not really known where WWE is going with this angle, but it has been kind of a strange one from the very start. On the last Monday Night Raw, someone stole Enzo Amore’s clothes and it led to him wandering around naked and coming face-to-face with Lana. This didn’t sit well with Rusev who had a match with Enzo later and destroyed him.

Now, it seems as if WWE is heading toward a match between Rusev and Big Cass so that the big man can get payback for his little buddy. Still, it’s a really weird situation and one that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

This week’s Monday Night Raw doesn’t seem to have the same huge build-up that the past few weeks have had. It could be because the next big pay-per-view on the schedule is TLC which is a SmackDown LIVE-exclusive event. Either way, Charlotte Flair will defend her women’s title against Sasha Banks, Kendrick vs. Swann, and The New Day will defend against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows for three big title matches. It should still be a really action-packed Monday night.
