Selena Gomez Feels ‘Broken’ Inside? Could Niall Horan Be Of Some Comfort?
Could Selena Gomez and Niall Horan get together again? Stranger things have happened. The attraction has been there, for a while. The two have been seen together engaging in some PDA back in December, according to this from the Inquisitr, but it didn’t work out back then. Could it work for them now?
Selena Gomez has been through a lot. Miss Gomez was diagnosed with lupus in 2014, but she did not reveal that to fans, allowing the world to think what it would when she canceled the end of her tour and of course, people thought the worst. Some tabloids said alcohol and others said drugs, but Selena was really sick, and eventually revealed her condition to Billboard.
“I was diagnosed with [autoimmune disease] lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke. I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes.’ But I was angry I even felt the need to say that. It’s awful walking into a restaurant and having the whole room look at you, knowing what they’re saying. I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.”
Niall Horan was warm and compassionate toward Selena Gomez at the American Music Awards, and later on Twitter, but did he also make the first move at rekindling that December romance? Niall appears to be letting Selena know he is there for her, so maybe when she is ready, a romance could blossom?
Selena Gomez was in a bit of a dark place last year, and so Niall Horan wisely gave her space. Now his gesture at the American Music Awards, with that palpable backward glance shown in the video above seemed to say, Horan might still be interested in Gomez.
Selena Gomez opened up on stage at the American Music Awards, according to Billboard.
“I think it’s safe to say that a lot of you know a lot of my life whether I liked it or not and I had to stop. Because I had everything, and I was absolutely broken. And I kept it together and I swore I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore. If you are broken, you don’t have to stay broken.”
Selena Gomez was met with open arms from Niall Horan, who gave her a big old Horan hug and told her she “did so good!” Is this Niall being sweet and compassionate, or is this Niall making his move? Maybe it’s a little of both, depending on how Selena wants to take the gesture.

Niall Horan also praised Selena Gomez on Twitter for her courage in speaking out about her feelings and her personal struggles.

It is hard for Selena Gomez to trust, she admits. According to a Billboard interview, Miss Gomez has been shamed about her weight and is sensitive about what she calls a “husky” sound to her voice. Selena has been feeling very “insecure.” Now, though, she is starting to feel a bit better.
Selena Gomez teared up as she related to Billboard how the headline “Hot or Hefty” heartlessly paired with a paparazzi photo of her in a bikini made her feel.
“I was in a bikini and got publicly ripped for being overweight. That was the first time I’d experienced body shaming like that. I believed some of the words they were saying. When somebody else has your self-esteem in their hands…”
Selena Gomez says that words like that hurt most though when they come from someone she loves.
“As a woman, especially, you expect it in the business, but from the people that I chose to love — that was a bummer.”
Well, Niall Horan would never say anything like that. Did Justin Bieber say the wrong thing? It seems doubtful, but who knows. At any rate, someone hurt Selena Gomez badly with a weight comment.
According to Billboard, the worst part of her relationship with Justin Bieber was that it tended to define her and her career. Long after the breakup, the media was still trying to link them in various ways. Gomez and Bieber are not on bad terms but haven’t been close in over a year. Selena wishes Justin Bieber the best.
“I’m proud of him. This is what I always saw in him, why I always believed in him.”
Selena Gomez says she is totally over Justin Bieber, so does Niall Horan stand a chance?
Niall Horan’s timing was pretty good as Horan showed his support for Selena Gomez after her emotional speech at the American Music Awards. Miss Gomez seems to be opening up again. After about a three-month break from social media, Selena returned to Instagram on Thanksgiving Day, according to Billboard.
“I have a lot to be thankful for this year. My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. I’ve finally fought the fight of not ‘being enough.'”
Selena Gomez is also thankful that her lupus is in remission. Miss Gomez has gone through a lot, trying to regain her health. According to People, she’s still uncomfortable even talking about her illness. Selena’s recent months of reflection seem to be helping. In another Instagram post, quoted on Billboard, Gomez expresses love and care for her fans.
“I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless.”
