‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Release Date, Cast, And Millie Bobby Brown’s Return

Season 2 of Stranger Things has been confirmed and the anticipated Netflix original has a lot more in store for fans. The air date is expected in 2017 and while no official release date has been announced, it is expected that Netflix will continue its original scheduled lineup and release it around July 2017.

Millie Bobby Brown is returning as Eleven; however, it is still unclear if she will be a regular or a guest star as the series has added several additional cast members. Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers revealed that they may change some of the titles for Season 2 because they don’t want to give too much away.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven is one of the biggest secrets of Stranger Things Season 2. In an interview, David Harbour, who plays Hopper, confirmed that the Eggo waffles he leaves in the season finale are in fact for Eleven. He revealed that his character believes that Eleven exists in “some form,” which suggests the beloved character may not be herself when she returns in Season 2.

There are several new cast members joining in Season 2 of Stranger Things. Two new characters, Max played by actress Sadie Sink and Billy played by Dacre Montgomery will be siblings. The first episode of Season 2 is titled “Madmax,” which provides some insight to a character who is described as “a tough and confident girl whose appearance, behavior, and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era. She has a complicated history and is generally suspicious of those around her,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Her step-brother Billy is more of a bad boy who drives a black Camaro and is good with the ladies. Comedian Brett Gelman will join the cast of Season 2 to play a conspiracy theorist and disgraced journalist Murray Bauman who shows up in Hawkins, Indiana – a very strange town that could potentially prove a story he is chasing.

The Duffer brother have revealed that there are a lot of details about the upside down world that will slowly be introduced as the series progresses. The show will continue it’s 80’s themed plot and draw inspiration from popular pop culture classics of that era.

The Stranger Things kids included Will Byers are expected to return and have been photographed filming scenes from Season 2 of Stranger Things. Due to the maturation of the young cast members, the second season will begin about 12 months after the events of the first season’s finale. The Duffer Brothers have said that the time jump will be explained and viewers will have to put some of the pieces together as the episodes progress.

Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan may not end up together but the writers have not written off the idea. Many fans are hoping that recovering d-bag Steve Harrington blows it with Nancy so that she could be with Jonathan. Barbara will also get some form of justice; however, she will remain dead.

Another mystery of Stranger Things Season 2 is whether the monster is dead or there is more of them out there. Some fans are making theories based off of the titles for the episodes, which sort of confirms that the next season will feature nine episodes as follows:

1 – “Madmax”

2 – “The Boy Who Came Back to Life”

3 – “The Pumpkin Patch”

4 – “The Palace”

5 – “The Storm”

6 – “The Pollywog”

7 – “The Secret Cabin”

8 – “The Brain”

9 – “The Lost Brother”

These titles may change; however, some are very revealing. For example, who is the lost brother? Will?Byers perhaps…
