‘Real Housewives’ Secrets Revealed! Who’s A Diva? Who Was Offered A Spinoff? Andy Cohen Tells All

Andy Cohen spilled a lot of juicy secrets in his latest publication, Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries. From the biggest divas to spinoffs that never happened, the longtime Bravo host didn’t hold anything back. What were some of Cohen’s most shocking revelations?

According to Radar Online, the entire cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta were the biggest divas Cohen encountered. The ladies actually showed up hours late for the filming of the Season 7 reunion, and Cohen admitted, “I lost my wits.”

The Real Housewives of New York ladies weren’t any better. They may have shown up on time for production, but Ramona Singer constantly complained that producers were giving Bethenny Frankel more time in front of the cameras.

Speaking of divas, Radar Online reveals that Nicki Minaj was Cohen’s most troubling guest on Watch What Happens Live. The rapper had a list of demands before appearing on the show and wanted to know every question Cohen prepared ahead of time. She also refused to allow audience members to take pictures during her interview.

“The show was a roller-coaster of Nicki rolling her eyes at photos we’d decided to use of her and of shady turns of phrase I was using in the script,” he explained.

Bravo TV reports that Cohen’s most surprising revelations were about his relationship with Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice. Cohen exchanged emails with Giudice during her prison term and opened up about meeting with the reality on the day before she was sent away.

“I also wrote about a top-secret lunch that Teresa and I had right before she went to jail where we got a lot off of our chest. She told me how hurt she had been by me sometimes on episodes of Watch What Happens Live, she had left the show feeling like I had made fun of her or I had hurt her feelings,” Cohen admitted. “I had made a joke about her about how she might look in an orange jumpsuit. We didn’t wind up using that in the one-on-one that I did because it was inappropriate and I apologized to her.”

A lot of things were up in the air while Giudice served time behind bars. Cohen thought that his secret lunch was the last time he would see Giudice and wasn’t sure if the show would delay filming until Giudice was released from prison.

In the end, Cohen admitted that fans don’t get a true sense of Giudice by watching the show. Not only does he think she is “more vulnerable” than viewers realize, but he was also “amazed by her spirit when she was in jail.”

Cohen wasn’t as kind to Giudice’s husband, Joe, who also sent to prison on the same charges of fraud. In fact, the host doesn’t think Joe has any remorse for what he did.

“He doesn’t think he did anything wrong, he just thinks he got caught,” Cohen noted.

Interestingly, Cohen also pitched a spinoff to Bravo about a series with Bethenny Frankel and Martha Stewart.

“The show is like Shark Tank meets The Apprentice, with Martha as Trump and Bethenny as Tim Gunn,” he wrote back in 2014. Sadly, the show never materialized, despite Cohen pitching another Frankel spinoff a year later.

As previously reported by the Inquistir, the book contains so many secrets and behind-the-scenes insights that Cohen made a lot of celebrities angry. But for Cohen, he views himself as the biggest “moron” of them all.

“It’s a diary of two years of my life,” he stated. “The book is chock-full of celebrity and personal stories… I name so many names in the book, but if you really look at it, I’m the moron, I’m the one that’s putting my foot in my mouth.”

Apparently, Cohen ticked off the Real Housewives stars more than anyone else.

“I definitely lift the veil off my relationship with the Housewives. I sent the book to all the Housewives last week, I’ve gotten a few texts… Kyle Richards texted me, she said she thinks ‘this one and this one will be mad at you.’ I haven’t heard from any of the New York Housewives,” he shared.

Another interesting aspect of the book, according to Bravo TV, is the fact that Cohen is constantly in contact with Bravo’s Real Housewives, including their husbands.

“I think what people don’t realize about me is that I really have a constant going with the Housewives and very random Househusbands on my phone,” Cohen dished. “So, yeah, Slade Smiley will text me every so often.”

Cohen also gets messages from Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson, Sheree Whitfield, Shannon Beador, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and Bethenny Frankel.

“Sometimes they’re mad at me. Sometimes they’re not,” he added.

Cohen’s book, Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries, with all of his Real Housewives gossip, is currently available to purchase in stores.
