Blake Shelton And Miranda Lambert At War Over Her New Album, Why He Doesn’t Want Gwen Stefani To Listen

Miranda Lambert’s patience is finally paying off! The singer’s newest album, The Weight of These Wings, is quickly becoming the talk of the country world. Why is Lambert’s ex-husband, Blake Shelton, going to war over the new album?

In Touch Weekly reports that Lambert took her sweet time releasing the album following the divorce from Shelton. Even more, Shelton doesn’t want his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, listening in on what Lambert has to say about the breakup.

“Gwen has got to be devastated by what a modern country masterpiece Miranda’s made,” a close friend told the outlet.

Stefani was so upset with the album that it even stole away the joy of planning her wedding with the country crooner. “With Miranda’s album making news like this, it’s a constant reminder of Blake’s past with another woman – and how she’s just on an entirely different level than Gwen.”

Lambert’s new work has been met with positive reviews so far. The singer’s first album since the breakup touches on splits, drinking, friends, fetishes, and moving on. It also alludes to why Lambert’s marriage with Shelton was a bust.

According to International Business Times, the situation has reached a point where Stefani is obsessed about the new album. Shelton, however, refused to let her listen out of fear that it will dig up old memories.

“…she hasn’t listened to it yet because Blake is currently living at her house in Beverly Hills while he’s taping The Voice in L.A. and he has a rule that Miranda’s music isn’t played – ever,” an insider reported.

Lambert has not commented on the release of her newest project. In fact, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that she flat out refused to give interviews to promote the album and wanted the music to speak for itself. Apparently, her plan is working.

“She wants to be over with it, it hurts thinking about it because what she had with Blake was amazing and the fact that it ended the way it did is sad and she doesn’t want to think about it,” the insider added.

Lambert’s refusal to discuss the divorce is also a tactical move to sell more records. She believes that Shelton’s latest album failed largely because of all the media attention he got from his relationship with Stefani.

Indeed, Blake Shelton was very open about his new romance during the promotional tour of his album. He never hesitated to take about Stefani and his divorce, which ultimately took attention away from his music.

Lambert is afraid the same thing will happen to her if she opens the door for questions. East helped Lambert tremendously with the new album, writing several songs on the record and singing backup on the track, “Pushin’ Time.”

“By not doing the interviews, [Lambert] doesn’t have to explain anything, including the Blake situation,” a source explained.

Shelton and Lambert parted ways back in July of 2015. They were married for four years and it didn’t take long for them to move on to other relationships. Shelton started dating Stefani in November of last year while Lambert’s romance with Anderson East kicked into high gear a few months later.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail released a few images of Stefani’s latest public appearance in Los Angeles. The “No Doubt” alum was spotted running errands in the city on Monday and appeared down in spirits.

Stefani wore a huge jacket during the outing complete with oversized reading glasses. She put her hair in a bun and did not wear the usual amount of makeup. Stefani did not stop to comment on the latest rumors surrounding Lambert’s album.

The singer went through a divorce of her own last summer with Gavin Rossdale. The pair had three sons during their marriage, including Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two.

Despite the swirling rumors, Stefani was recently honored with the Icon Award at Glamour Magazine’s annual Women of the Year ceremony last weekend. Doing her acceptance speech, Stefani thanked Shelton for his support and for “kissing [her] back to life.”

“I was so low that I didn’t think there was any way I could pick myself back up. Sometimes to be woken up again in life, you need to go through some really bad, hard times. I feel like I got woken up this year.”

Of course, the rumors about Stefani’s reaction to Lambert’s new album have not been confirmed. Instead, an inside source told Gossip Cop that the couple is far from devastated by Lambert’s work.

Despite the fact that Lambert’s album will outsell Stefani’s, the two are not letting it get between their relationships. Not only is Stefani not obsessed about listening to the songs, but a source said the feud between Lambert and Stefani is “ridiculous.”

Blake Shelton has not commented on rumors surrounding his ex-wife’s successful album.
