Kansas City Chiefs Vs. Denver Broncos: Bold Predictions For Week 12 Of 2016 NFL Season

The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will meet up for a rather important AFC West meeting in Week 12 of the 2016 NFL season.

While both teams are still very much alive in the AFC West standings, another loss could be very costly when it comes to who wins the division. After all, the Oakland Raiders are at the top of the standings with an 8-2 record. Meanwhile, the Broncos and Chiefs stand at 7-3. Of course, plenty of football still needs to be played (there are five more weeks left in the regular season after this week), and both squads still have a meeting apiece against the Raiders.

If the season ended today, Oakland, Denver, and Kansas City would all be part of the playoff party. Nonetheless, all three teams will be part of the playoff conversation no matter what happens in Week 12.

Before the festivities go down this weekend, make sure to check out some bold predictions for one of the more intriguing games of the week.

Alex Smith Is Good For Zero Touchdowns, One Interception

Alex Smith & Co. likely don’t give opposing defenses nightmares — well, at least not this season, that is. Smith has racked up a grand total of nine touchdowns on the season. In comparison, Drew Brees, who is leading the league in passing touchdowns, has racked up 26. Heck, even Trevor Siemian has 12 passing touchdowns in 2016.

As for the Chiefs’ offense as a whole, they are averaging 22.2 points per game. Denver’s offense is no juggernaut, but it is a tad better as it is putting up 23.9 points per contest.

Nonetheless, Smith is really going to struggle to find the end zone. In fact, he will fail to find it altogether.

Folks need to remember two things. (1) These are bold predictions. (2) The Broncos’ defense is only allowing 18.9 points per game.

Trevor Siemian Isn’t Much Better With One Touchdown, One Interception

Trevor Siemian, in bold prediction fashion, will also struggle in this showdown. For the record, the Chiefs are only giving up 18.7 points per game.

For what it’s worth, Siemian has recorded four touchdowns and four interceptions in his last three outings.

Devontae Booker Runs Wild All Over The Chiefs’ Defense

Devontae Booker has yet to record a 100-yard rushing game. However, he has come close (his season high is 83 rushing yards), and he is about to go up against a defense that tends to give up a lot of yards in the rushing department.

Kansas City is allowing 121.1 rushing yards per game. As a result, don’t be surprised if Booker not only shines on offense for the Broncos, but rushes for 100-plus yards as well.

The Broncos Not Only Come Up Victorious, But Hold KC To Single Digits

This has bold written all over it, but playing at home certainly doesn’t hurt Denver’s cause.

Not only has Kansas City scored 10-plus points in every single game this season, but Denver allowed 30 points against the Raiders in Week 9. With that said, the Broncos have held two opponents to single digits in 2016.

Every game is different and comes with its own bag of scenarios, but if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can hold the Chiefs to just 17 points — which they did last week — then the Broncos are surely capable of holding Kansas City to single digits.

Regardless, look for the Broncos to flex their defensive muscles at home, which will lead to them capturing the win and keeping pace in the AFC West.

For all it’s worth, the Denver Broncos are ranked No. 5 in ESPN‘s latest power rankings while the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 7. As a result, we should be in store for quite the showdown when these two teams meet up on Sunday.
