Erin Andrews Death Threats: Fox Sports Host Fires Back On Twitter

Fox Sports personality Erin Andrews is keenly aware of the dangers the digital age pose to celebrities like her, and she’s had enough, especially when it comes to death threats on Twitter.

Already Andrews has had to deal with someone secretly filming her nude in a hotel room, and later a 911 call she made about paparazzi became public as well. Through it all, Andrews has had to deal with the same kind of unruly followers any public figure might face, but, as E! Online reports, sometimes they cross a line.

“Why Twitter needs policing,” Andrews wrote on Twitter Monday morning. She then included the following message from user @hyuncmartinez. “@ErinAndrews You make eye contact with me and I will chop you apart. You are just a bad thing.”

But that message wasn’t the only Erin Andrews death threat. The user, who’s name is Hyun K Chung according to their Twitter profile, kept at it. Here’s some more offensive tweets.

  • “@ErinAndrews Do not make me mention about your family you psycho!!!”
  • “@ErinAndrews So, now how will you face me tonight bitch?”
  • “@ErinAndrews You do not tweet me anymore before I will kill you.”

Perhaps in reaction to the public attention, @hyuncmartinez tweeted Sunday, “You will never find out who I am so stop trying.”

The Hollywood Gossip reports that several Twitter users have suggested that Andrews should call police about the death threats, but it was not clear if police had been alerted as of Tuesday morning.

Erin Andrews rose to acclaim as a reporter for ESPN in 2004 and is perhaps best known for her work on ESPN College Football Saturday Primetime. Andrews left ESPN for Fox Sports in June of 2o12. She was the victim of a stalking incident in 2008 when someone secretly videotaped her through the peephole of her hotel room.
