2017 Predictions: Nostradamus’ Prophecy For The Donald Trump Assassination, World War 3, And The Bible’s Antichrist End Times

It’s that crazy time of the year when 2017 predictions begin and our copies of Nostradamus’ prophecies are dusted off. Predictions for 2017 are already promising to some real humdingers, with some claiming that Nostradamus predicted the outcome of the 2016 election… never mind a Donald Trump assassination. As always, World War 3 is on the horizon with these types of prophecies, but in this case, some believe Trump may be the “trumpet” that sounds in the Bible’s Antichrist and the end times of Revelation.

This past year has not been a good time for end of the world predictions (but when have they ever been good?). Vladimir Putin may have rattled his sabers a few more times in 2016, but in general, the previous Nostradamus predictions for 2016 have failed to come to pass although, but we still have a little over a month to go.

This is not to say that 2016 did not get off scot-free. Pope Francis fears the possibility of World War 3, with the Catholic leader going so far as to claim WW3 has already started. The Pope believes the many conflicts around the globe amount to “a kind of third world war being fought piecemeal and, in the context of global communications, we sense an atmosphere of war.” Now, come January, we can safely make a 2017 prediction that Trump’s small hands will be in reach of that big, shiny-red button.

First off, full disclosure, this article is a semi-serious take on these 2017 predictions. Some of the ideas are very likely to be untrue, and Nostradamus’ prophecies can be applied to a long list of years, but the Bible’s prophecies are debated among Christians to this day. So, now that you have been forewarned, let us proceed.

Does Nostradamus Mention Donald Trump’s Name?

Anyone who knows Nostradamus’ prophecies also knows they can be applied to many situations since they are often vaguely depicted and the quatrains were not written in a linear time sequence. In this case, those who are tying Nostradamus’ 2017 predictions to the 2016 elections did so solely on the basis that Trump could be “the trumpet” that’s referenced in multiple quatrains.

Critics of this viewpoint point out that Nostradamus’ writings were a combination of 16th century French and several other languages. These unbelievers claim similarities between Trump and trumpet are limited to the English language, while the modern French word for trumpet is “trompette” and the Old French reads as “Par grand discord la terre tremblera.” Not so fast, claims the Nostradamus brigade. The etymology of the word “trump” is based on the Middle English “trompe” and the Old High German “trumpa,” both of which were used in the 13th century to refer to either a trumpet or a sound. (Anti-Trump protesters will be delighted to know that the word trump was once used to denote “fabricate, devise, deceive, cheat”.)

The second issue issue is that these quatrains have been used in reference to other events of the past, so tying them to 2017 predictions and Trump would seem to go against more established interpretations. But, seeing as this would not make a very interesting article if we ended it like that, let’s examine the quatrains which are claimed to reference Trump.

Century I: 40

The false trumpet concealing madness
will cause Byzantium to change its laws.
From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants
the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.

If Trump is the “false trumpet” then Nostradamus predicts the future U.S. president will go mad. Now, modern-day Byzantium is Eastern Europe, so the third and fourth line could mean that Trump attempts to intervene in the refugee situation, which in turn affects the Euro.

Century I: 57

The trumpet shakes with great discord.
An agreement broken: lifting the face to heaven:
the bloody mouth will swim with blood;
the face anointed with milk and honey lies on the ground.

To put this quatrain into perspective, the “land of milk and honey” is often interpreted to be Israel. Some believe this quatrain may be referring to how World War 3 starts. Needless to say, all of the Bible’s end times prophecies are centered on Israel and the rise of the Biblical Antichrist.

Ignoring Nostradamus for a moment, it makes sense that the future president will intervene in Israel since Trump once declared, “We will move the American Embassy to the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem!” According to NPR, Trump is seen as being pro-Israel and pro-Jewish, although some have concerns over Trump’s cabinet picks.

“The general sense is that he has a love of the state of Israel,” says Rabbi Mark Dratch, executive vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America.

“[The sense is] that he understands the security needs of the state of Israel, he understands the special relationship that exists between the United States and Israel.”

Century III: 50

The republic of the great city
Will not want to consent to the great severity:
King summoned by trumpet to go out,
The ladder at the wall, the city will repent.

America is a Constitutional Republic so a vague reference to the United States makes sense with Trump at the wheel. The metaphor used in this quatrain has been interpreted and re-interpreted in the past, but for the sake of argument, let’s just assume Trump is having difficulty convincing Americans to “consent to the great severity” imposed by foreign powers. The “ladder at the wall” is the beginning of a siege, so apparently some sort of war leads to repentance for a controversial action.

Century X: 76

The great Senate will ordain the triumph
For one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out:
At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be
Put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled.

This sounds like the consequence of a great conflict (perhaps WW3?), with the prediction being that Trump supporters may end up “selling their possessions and expelling enemies.”

Is Donald Trump The Antichrist Of The Bible?

The Bible’s end times predictions require an Antichrist to get events rolling and some Christians are always eager to provide names. In recent years, it seems like every sitting U.S. President has been claimed to be the Antichrist of the Bible. George W. Bush was the Antichrist. Barack Obama certainly was the Antichrist, or at least an antichrist, claimed some Christians. Continuing that tradition, Donald Trump is the Antichrist according to some tangled webs on the internet.

When Nostradamus refers to the Antichrist, he’s a man entering Europe while wearing a blue turban. Obviously, that can’t be Trump since his turban would be red. Joking aside, some Christians have analyzed the proposition that Trump is the Antichrist by looking to attributes the Biblical Antichrist must possess.

For example, Daniel’s prophecies in the Bible describe the Antichrist as having great charisma and an immense ego. While that certainly sounds like Trump, who loves to boast about his “yuge” accomplishments, the Bible verse specifically says “he should exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god.” Trump may boast, but he’s never gone that far. Still, similarities also exist with Trump’s foreign policy, since he hopes to broker a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians. Some believe such a deal is the “covenant with many” referenced in Daniel 9:27.

There are other attributes the Antichrist must possess, but honestly, we can simplify things by considering one verse. The Bible also states that the true Antichrist will lack a desire for women.

“Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.” (Daniel 11:37)

That’s certainly not the Donald we all know and love! In the end, Wayne Croley of Prophecy Proof Insights claims, “I strongly disagree with people who argue that Donald Trump is the Antichrist.” But Nostradamus’ prophecies require an Antichrist in order launch World War 3 so we’ll just continue to assume Trump is hiding those horns for now.

The Donald Trump Assassination Conspiracy Theory And World War 3

The first thing to note is that if these quatrains are indeed related to Trump, then some intrepid Nostradamus fans successfully predicted during the summer that Trump would win the 2016 election. Kudos to them. Their 2016 prediction method was better than Nate Silver and Five Thirty Eight.

Where does the Donald Trump assassination come into the picture you may wonder? Some like John Hogue claim that Nostradamus predicted three antichrists, with two being from the past (Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler), and the third being known by the codename “Mabus.” As already noted, in making predictions for 2017, it’s become popular for some to claim Trump is this third antichrist. If President-elect Trump is said to be Mabus, then President-elect Trump would then be assassinated, and that event would supposedly plunge the U.S. into World War 3.

“Nostradamus gave the Third Antichrist the following code name. He’s Mabus. A number of notorious contemporary figures, still living or recently dead from the Middle East can see their names spelled in the Mabus code,” wrote Hogue.

“But there also are other leaders from the West, deeply entangled in Middle Eastern turmoil, a current US president and a charismatic candidate who could be his successor whose names also easily decode out of Mabus, making the search for the right candidate the most provocative and topical challenge presented by Nostradamus for our present times. Though his true name is occulted, the Third Antichrist’s destiny is made clear. Unlike the first two, he is the first to die in a war he initiates at the sign of a comet, or a rocket falling out of the skies.”

So, yes, President-elect Trump should be careful about tripping over that nuclear football propped up against the wall in Trump Tower. Everyone will probably disagree on these 2017 predictions, but everyone will agree we don’t want those nuclear rockets falling out of the skies….
