Bethenny Frankel’s Boyfriend Dennis Shields Reportedly Threatens Her Ex-Husband Jason Hoppy With A Harassment Lawsuit

Bethenny Frankel may be divorced, but her drama with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, the father of her young daughter, Bryn, may be far from over.

According to a new report, Dennis Shields, who is currently dating the Real Housewives of New York City star, has been on the receiving end of “disgusting, vicious emails” reportedly sent by Hoppy and is allegedly prepared to go to court and take a stand against him.

“Dennis Shields, who’s been dating [Bethenny Frankel] for a year, had his lawyer fire off a letter to her ex, Jason Hoppy, accusing him of sending him dozens of emails with ‘increasing frequency and hostility,'” TMZ revealed to readers on November 22.

Bethenny Frankel began dating Shields last year, several months before her divorce from Hoppy was finalized this past July.

As the TMZ report explained, sources close to Shields, the chairman of YieldStreet, have suggested that the alleged emails sent to Shields from Hoppy have reportedly been addressed to Bethenny Frankel and cc’d to Shields.

Although none of the emails were shared in the report, the subject of Hoppy’s messages has reportedly been anti-Bethenny Frankel. In fact, according to the report, Hoppy has allegedly claimed his ex-wife is “ugly, old and irrelevant.” He even reportedly offered Shields some advice and suggested he run for the hills as her boyfriends have in the past. According to TMZ, Hoppy has allegedly emailed Shields and informed him that Bethenny Frankel has involved him in her “revolving door of men” and said “he’ll be gone soon.”

The outlet’s sources went on to reveal that Hoppy has reportedly sent 49 emails in the last 70 days, and after receiving the many emails, both Bethenny Frankel and Dennis Shields have reached their breaking point. In turn, Shields has fired off a letter from his attorney that threatens to take legal action against Hoppy if he doesn’t immediately stop emailing him.

In July, after her divorce was finalized, Bethenny Frankel released a statement, via her attorney, Allan Mayefsky, to People Magazine.

“Out of respect for her privacy and the well-being of her daughter, [Bethenny Frankel] is declining to comment. We can confirm that the divorce has been resolved. Our client is ecstatic that this long chapter is over, and she is looking forward to moving on with her life,” the statement read.

At the same time, Hoppy’s attorney, Bernard Clair, told the magazine, “Jason is thrilled that this chapter of his life is over; he is extremely pleased with the settlement that was reached. Jason looks forward to the future and enjoying that time privately with family, friends and most important to him, his daughter.”

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy met during Frankel’s first go-around with The Real Housewives of New York City. Then, once the couple got serious and became pregnant, Frankel left the show after its third season and began starring in her own series with Hoppy, which was titled Bethenny Getting Married. Frankel and Hoppy continued to star in their spinoff for three seasons before Frankel chose to walk away from the series and focus her attention on her talk show, Bethenny, which was canceled after just one season.

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy parted ways in December of 2012, two years after tying the knot, and in early 2013, they both filed documents to end their marriage. While Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy continued to feud over their assets and the custody of their daughter for years, they ultimately came to a custody agreement in June of 2014. Two years later, nearly four years after they split, their divorce was finalized.

After parting ways with Hoppy, Bethenny Frankel returned to The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 7 and has remained on the show ever since.
