Kanye West Savaged By Snoop Dogg Over Concert Rant, But Twitter Throws A Party

Kanye West is renowned for doing his own thing and for believing that the Yeezy way is the only way. It isn’t big news that Kanye is frequently criticized for the level of his self-belief, something many people regard as sheer arrogance. Kanye has described himself as the world’s “greatest living rock-star” and, as reported by Sky News, West described his current album, The Life of Pablo, as the “best album of all time.” It is Kanye’s tour in support of The Life of Pablo that has brought a new wave of unwelcome publicity to West’s door.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Kanye outraged fans in Sacramento over the weekend when he launched into an epic rant and then left the stage after only 30 minutes. West directed his tirade at Beyonce, Jay Z, and Hillary Clinton before storming off stage, and he then canceled a show in Los Angeles the next day. Ironically, the L.A. show was a rescheduled date that was itself cut short earlier this month.

Kanye had played just two songs but had driven fans into a frenzy before the concert hit the buffers. Kanye turned the stage into a personal soapbox and spent around 15 minutes ranting, seemingly about anything that popped into his head, before he pulled the plug on the concert. West told the press to ready their racist comments before storming off stage.

“Press, get ready to write your passive-aggressive, LeBron James racist comments… get ready, get ready, ’cause the show’s over!”

Fans were outraged at Kanye’s behavior, especially given that many had paid $250 for tickets to the much-anticipated show. Among the fans at the Golden 1 Center were a number of Sacramento Kings NBA players. Kings forward Anthony Tolliver accused West of “stealing money from 22,000 fans in 25 minutes.”

Snoop Dogg Savages Kanye

It isn’t clear what prompted Yeezy’s latest rant, but fans and fellow celebrities alike are shocked by Kanye’s behavior. Rapper Snoop Dogg savaged Kanye in an expletive-laden social media post. Snoop called Kanye crazy and said he “picked the wrong night” to behave in this way and speculated that Kanye must be “on something.”

“This n****r crazy. Have you heard this n****r diss a n****r onstage? This n****r crazier than the s**t I got on my head. That n****r crazy. I can’t believe he’s still talking. He picked the wrong night to vent like that, them Sacramento n****rs ain’t feeling that s**t.

“He was talking that weird a*s s**t. That’s just my thoughts. I smoke weed. Weed don’t make you do that. What the f**k is he on?”

Kanye fans will be dismayed to learn that the hip-hop superstar has now canceled the rest of his tour. Thousands of people have bought tickets for the remaining 21 nights of Kanye’s tour. Those fans will now need to return to the point of sale to have their ticket money refunded. Fans who have waited years to see Yeezy perform are sure to be distraught at the tour cancellation, but not everyone was unhappy.

Twitter Throws A “Kanye Is Over” Party

Us Weekly reports that Twitter erupted with comments shortly after Kanye’s latest outburst. Fans and haters alike were desperate to share their opinions on West in a series of comments and memes that had the hashtag #KanyeIsOverParty trending worldwide. Fans were claiming that West is the music industry’s Donald Trump, someone who speaks his mind without regard for the consequences.

Kanye’s detractors were quick to jump on the theme as they speculated that West had just finished his career with one fell swoop. Perhaps Kanye is planning a premature end to his music career so that he can concentrate on running for president in four years.

Are you a Kanye West fan? Do you think that Kanye can recover from this latest rant and the adverse publicity generated by the cancellation of the Life of Pablo tour?
