Kate Gosselin Rumors: ‘Kate Plus 8’ Star Defends Her Parenting Skills
Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin has been in the news for all the wrong reasons as of late, and the latest Kate Gosselin rumors show the TLC reality star going on the defensive in the press. The author and mother of eight recently did a full press tour to defend herself against the latest controversy surrounding her son, Collin, who is supposed to be away at a special school that will help him handle his anger issues.
Yahoo! recently sat down to talk to the reality-mom, and to provide her with an opportunity to dispel the latest Kate Gosselin rumors. Collin told the staffers at the school that his mother has “abused” him, a claim which Kate dismissed out of hand as “unfounded.” Also, Gosselin told the outlet that when she was first presented with her son’s issues, she felt that she didn’t have any other choice but to put him in the special needs school.
And as for the claims lobbied against her by her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, about Collin’s whereabouts, Kate remarked with one sentence:
“I’ve known all along where he is. But the world doesn’t know. And I’ll leave it at that.”
And these latest Kate Gosselin rumors are substantiated by the claims made in People Magazine, who also sat down with Kate to discuss Collin’s special needs. The 41-year-old told the outlet that Collin is right where he belongs in the special needs facility, and she dismisses the claims of all her detractors that claim she’s a bad mother.
Kate told the outlet the following.
“Collin has special needs. [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own.”
Kate also told the outlet that she misses her son being at home with the rest of the family. However, she understands that her son needs to be in this facility if he wishes to become a functional member of society.
Kate said the following.
“I’m very happy with the care that he’s getting, and am still completely comforted by the fact that he is so clearly exactly where he needs to be, getting precisely what he needs.”
Finally, the latest Kate Gosselin rumors released by Entertainment Tonight suggest that Kate’s ex-husband, Jon, has made some unfounded claims against her, for which she’s felt some distress, but for which she’s also not ultimately worried about. Jon recently took to the media to claim that Kate has been hiding the kids from him, and somehow “lost” Collin — a claim which Kate emphatically denies.
Kate said the following.
“I’m in the public eye. I’ve been investigated many times. All of the claims against me have been unfounded…obviously.”
Kate also dismissed the accusation that she isn’t being a good mother, claiming that the children’s doctors have recommended that Collin be placed in a special needs school to handle his anger issues. Kate also emphasized that Collin is making a lot of progress in the school, and she hopes that he comes home soon.
The new season of Kate Plus 8 will premiere on TLC. This will be the tenth year that Kate Gosselin will be working with TLC.
