Gwen Stefani Gushes Over Boyfriend Blake Shelton, Credits Him For Her Post-Divorce Happiness

Gwen Stefani was recently honored during Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year event in Los Angeles and during her speech, she mentioned her boyfriend of just over one year, Blake Shelton.

Speaking to the audience during her acceptance speech, as revealed by Taste of Country on November 19, Gwen Stefani referenced her messy divorce from Gavin Rossdale and thanked Shelton for “kissing” her back to life months after she and Rossdale parted ways.

“I was so low that I didn’t think there was any way I could pick myself back up,” Gwen Stefani told the audience during her speech.

“To Blake Shelton for kissing me back to life, thank you so much,” Gwen Stefani continued. “I am blown away, I’m blown away by this room of unbelievable courage. It’s unbelievable to be here tonight. I am really, really grateful.”

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale parted ways in August of last year, but in November of last year, shocking details regarding their split were shared. Although neither party has spoken out about Rossdale’s alleged betrayal, a source told Us Weekly magazine at the end of last year that the Bush singer had engaged in a years-long affair with their former nanny, Mindy Mann.

According to the report, one of Gwen Stefani’s employees informed her of the alleged affair in February of last year and the singer was believed to have discovered messages sent between Rossdale and Mann, which included plans for sex. However, because Rossdale denied the affair and claimed the messages were nothing more than flirtation, the couple chose to stay married and work on their relationship until Rossdale reportedly admitted to cheating several months later.

As news of Gwen Stefani’s husband’s rumored affair hit the web, so did news of her then-new romance with Shelton, which began on the set of The Voice Season 9. On November 4, 2015, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s relationship was confirmed and hours later, the two attended a Country Music Awards after party in Nashville, Tennessee, where they were seen holding hands with one another as they walked with friends.

In a past interview with Glamour, Gwen Stefani said she felt “woken up” this year and credited her music and friendship with Shelton for her newfound confidence and happiness.

“When I was in the studio for This Is What the Truth Feels Like, it was like, I need to be here right now… It doesn’t matter what comes out of this, as far as my career — this isn’t about a hit. It’s about saving my life,” Gwen Stefani explained of her latest album.

“It was interesting, because I know you’re going to ask me about Blake, but finding somebody who was going through the exact same experience? That was an inspiration. He was a friend to me when I needed a friend. An unexpected gift. And that became an inspiration in the songwriting,” she said.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been going strong since their romance began but when it comes to the ongoing rumors of an engagement and a wedding, the couple has yet to confirm any such thing and they have been known to deny the rumors from time to time.

Earlier this month, an Us Weekly report claimed Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were allegedly finalizing their plans for a wedding which would take place before the end of this year. However, a source close to Stefani confirmed to Gossip Cop that they had no knowledge of the finalization of any plans, nor were they in on any plan for Stefani and Shelton to tie the knot in the coming weeks.
