Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello Spark Dating Rumors As Camila ‘Blows Kisses’ To Shawn At AMAs
Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello have long denied the rampant dating rumors surrounding their relationship, but their latest appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards once again has fans believing that the two musicians could be more than friends.
According to reports, Shawn and Camila, who attended the AMAs separately, were spotted interacting at the big music award show in Los Angeles where Cabello was reportedly blowing kisses to the “Stitches” singer before the duo then continued to gush over each other on social media.
Despite constantly shutting down reports they’re dating, Hollywood Life is reporting that Cabello allegedly “blew kisses” to Shawn after he exited the AMAs stage following his performance of singles “Treat You Better” and “Mercy” on November 20.
According to an onlooker who saw Mendes and Cabello’s sweet interaction, Camila allegedly “blew kisses to Shawn” as he walked of stage and appeared to be “very smitten” with the singer from the audience, who she first met while Fifth Harmony toured with him and Austin Mahone back in 2014.

The onlooker also revealed to the site that Cabello, who was sitting with her Fifth Harmony bandmates Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen and Normani Kordei in the AMAs audience, was “mad” that her view of Shawn was obstructed by cameras during Mendes’s performance.
“Camila was mad that cameras were in front of her and she wasn’t able to see the full Shawn Mendes performance,” an eyewitness told Hollywood Life of Cabello.
But it wasn’t just at the American Music Awards where Camila and Shawn gushed over each other.
After allegedly sweetly interacting at the big show, Cabello and Mendes then continued to praise each other on social media, sparking fresh dating rumors after previously denying that they were a couple in numerous interviews.

Taking to Twitter after Mendes’s performance, Cabello gushed over Shawn as the dating rumors swirled once again, even referring to Mendes as “my boy.”
“That’s my boyyyyyyy,” Camila wrote on the 140-character site after Music Choice commented on how Cabello was “rocking out” to Shawn’s performance from the audience. “He slayed,” Cabello then added.
Mendes then sent a whole lot of love back to Cabello on the social media site, replying to her AMAs gush with three heart emojis.
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes’s sweet interactions both during and post the 2016 American Music Awards sparked fresh dating rumors for the two, who famously teamed up for a duet on the track “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which got many fans asking if the two’s sweet interaction was confirmation that Shawn and the Fifth Harmony star are dating.
“When Shawn and Camila keep on flirting over Twitter even [though] they shut down dating rumors two times already,” Twitter user @adrianapenapple commented on the Shawn and Camila dating rumors, while @hoIlndtom tweeted, “Wait are Camila and Shawn still dating or am I late?”
Notably, the dating rumors are now once again hitting the headlines just weeks after Shawn appeared to hint that he and Camila once kissed during an interview with Britain’s Capital FM radio, suggesting that he and Cabello could potentially have once been a couple.
Mendes’s kissing confession went down back in September, where he hinted at a kiss between the two after a fan asked during a candid moment if Camila is a “good kisser.”
Rather than shutting down the dating rumors in the interview, Mendes coyly replied by joking, “I don’t know… I don’t know that that means. She has too strong of a British accent. I couldn’t understand her.”
Mendes’s kissing confession once again sparked dating rumors between himself and Camila, though Shawn once again shut down the dating rumors just days later, despite E! News reporting in late 2014 that Mendes and Cabello were in fact dating after growing close on their joint tour.
“A thing? No, we weren’t, actually,” Shawn hit back when asked about dating Camila in an interview with People, claiming that the two were not a couple and were actually “just really close friends.”
“We’re not dating — nor did we,” Mendes continued, slamming the dating rumors just weeks before sources claimed that Camila was spotted blowing a kiss to Shawn at the AMAs.
“[Camila] is one of those people who is just very easy to connect with and still, to this day, is one of my greatest friends,” Mendes added of Cabello, adding at the time that his friendship with the Fifth Harmony singer is “a friendship that you have to hold on to forever.”
