Gigi Hadid Stuns In Sheer Lace Gown As She Walks AMAs Red Carpet
Model Gigi Hadid knows how to walk a red carpet. The 21-year-old co-host of the 2016 American Music Awards stunned fans as she wore a white lace and completely sheer gown to the November 20 awards show.
Cosmopolitan referred to Hadid’s look as “bridal” as she flaunted the off-the-shoulder look. Gigi looked flawless despite the rain Los Angeles received as she walked the red carpet.
She paired the gown with a silver choker, bright lip, and dramatic hairdo as she posed for cameras. Fans got a glimpse of the model’s fit figure as the lace is sheer, showing Gigi’s legs and midsection. Despite this being her first time hosting the famous awards show, Gigi showed no fear as she turned heads on the red carpet.
She was fresh-faced with a natural makeup look to match her simple, yet elegant gown of choice.
Cosmo said Gigi asked the 2015 AMAs host, Jennifer Lopez, for advice on how many outfits she should prepare for the show. They report Gigi is doing only half as many outfit changes as Lopez, who wore 15 different looks last year. However, Hadid said each outfit is amazing and with less looks, each one will get time in the spotlight.
“They’re great looks and they’re going to get a good amount of time.”
If Gigi’s red carpet gown is any indication of what’s to come, fans can expect some buzz-worthy looks from the young star. She shared a photo on Instagram prior to her red carpet appearance showing her rehearsing for the big show. Gigi is seen sipping what appears to be coffee while holding a microphone. The model is photographed wearing matching tan sweatpants and crop top as she prepared for the awards show.
Taylor Swift shared her support of Gigi hosting the AMAs by posting a Halloween throwback on Instagram, reports Us Magazine. Hadid is smiling in the photo in the cub scout costume she wore to Swift’s Halloween party last month. Taylor told fans to watch the awards show her BFF will be co-hosting in the caption.

Gigi and Jay Pharoah, her co-host, posed for rehearsal photos on Saturday, the day before the awards show. Hadid wore a red matching pantsuit unbuttoned to reveal her cleavage, according to Daily Mail. She jokingly discussed how many outfit changes fans could expect with an over exaggeration of 300.
“Three hundred outfit changes. We’re really excited. No, I’m kidding. We’ll see. You know what, J. Lo did 10. I did five at my last award show, so maybe somewhere in between there.”
The “last award show” Gigi referenced was the2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, where she wore everything from mini-dresses to rompers, the Daily Mail reported.
It appears Gigi did a quick outfit change before taking the stage as photos have started to appear on social media showing her in a red gown instead of the white look.
Her second outfit of the night has already generated attention as fans added the hashtag #GigiHadid in photos of the glitzy gown. One Instagram user shared the photo and included the caption “hello to my idol.” While Hadid is without a doubt wowing fans in her awards show outfits, other celebs have dressed to impress as well.
Namely, Selena Gomez, who stepped out in a red gown of her own. The AMAs mark her first public appearance following a brief stint in a rehab for her mental health, reports Us Magazine.
Selena was glowing as she walked the AMAs red carpet in the Prada gown with her hair pulled back in a low ponytail. It seems celebrities are bringing out their A-game when it comes to dressing for this year’s AMAs. Fans now eagerly wait to see what other looks grace the stage.
