Madonna took a tumble during a recent concert performance, The Sun is reporting. The controversial singer was belting out a rendition of “Like a Prayer” when she decided to bring the audience in on the act. As a result, she fell on her face in front of thousands of giddy fans.
Here’s what happened: While kneeling in front of excited fans during a MDNA show in Dallas, Texas, Madonna decided to get the audience to sing along to her hit “Like a Prayer.” Everything seemed to be going extraordinarily well, that is, until one of her beloved followers tugged on her hand, causing the songstress to tip forward.
While fans scream in excitement, the singer tumbles to the floor. It’s not the most graceful fall you’re likely to see a pop star perform this year, but she managed to handle the scenario with a surprisingly amount of poise. Instead of chastising the fan for pulling on her hand, Madonna rolls onto her stomach and scrambles back onto her feet, singing the entire time.
For those who thought the musician’s recent antics at a show in Denver, Colorado were more than a little insensitive, watching Madonna fall on-stage is probably a source of great joy. According to The Huffington Post, the “Like a Virgin” singer was spotted toying with fake guns at her recent concert. Those still reeling from the The Dark Knight Rises shooting earlier this year weren’t at all impressed with the singer’s decision to move forward with the skit.
“It’s true there is a lot of violence in the beginning of the show and sometimes the use of fake guns – but they are used as metaphors,” Madonna explained in her tour manifesto. “I do not condone violence or the use of guns. Rather they are symbols of wanting to appear strong and wanting to find a way to stop feelings that I find hurtful or damaging.”
