Last night during the final Presidential Debate Mitt Romney accused President Obama of going on an “apology tour” during his first year in office. The President disputed the claim during last night’s debate and fact checkers have ruled that the statement was false. But Romney is sticking to his statement.

Today, the GOP candidate released an ad criticizing Obama for going on an apology tour.

The ad uses a clip from last night’s debate. Romney said:

“The president began with an apology tour going to various nations and criticizing America. I think they looked at that and saw weakness … The reason I call it an apology tour, you went to the Middle East and to Saudi Arabia and to Turkey and Iraq. You skipped Israel, our closest friend in the region. You said that America had dictated to other nations. Mr. President, America has not dictated to other nations. America has freed other nations from dictators.”

CNN reports that this isn’t the first time that Romney has criticized Obama for his apology tour. When he accepted the Republican nomination for president at the GOP convention in August, Romney said:

“I will begin my presidency with the jobs tour. President Obama began his with an apology tour. America, he said, had dictated to other nations. No, Mr. President America has freed other nations from dictators.”

Here’s Mitt Romney’s new Apology Tour ad.

The Inquisitr reported earlier that the apology tour claim has been ruled false by several fact checkers. CNN’s fact checker said that Obama did give several speeches in the Middle East in 2009 in an effort to improve relations. Obama admitted flaws during those speeches but he didn’t apologize for America’s actions.

Obama’s campaign spokesman Danny Kanner said:

“Mitt Romney is going back to the well – the old standby false attack alleging that the President apologized for America … It wasn’t true last night just as it wasn’t true throughout the course of this campaign – in fact, fact checkers continue to call it a blatant falsehood. With this new ad, Mitt Romney once again proved there is nothing he won’t say to get elected. But, voters should beware – his reckless and wrong foreign policies would take America back to a more dangerous time and reduce our standing in the world.”

Obama has also released a post-debate ad. The president’s ad, called Determination, talks about how he is going to keep America moving forward.

What do you think about Mitt Romney’s Apology Tour ad? What about Obama’s Determination ad?
