Miranda Lambert And Anderson East Release ‘Pushin’ Time,’ Read The Lyrics To Their Duet

Miranda Lambert has released the second single off her new album, The Weight of These Wings, which is a duet with her boyfriend, Anderson East.

According to a new report, the couple’s song, “Pushin’ Time,” appears to be their real-life love story.

On November 18, Hollywood Life revealed that in the song, Miranda Lambert notes September 12 as the first date the subjects of her song, possibly Lambert and East, spent together. As fans will recall, Miranda Lambert was newly single last September after announcing her divorce from Blake Shelton in July of 2015. However, she and East didn’t go public with their relationship until January of the following year.

As they sing the heartwarming track, Miranda Lambert and Anderson East express concern that their relationship may be moving too fast, with the lyrics claiming their romance could have been “rushed” and happened “overnight.”

They also hint that their romance may be short-lived with the lyrics, “Can’t take it slow cause you and I are pushin’ time.”

Miranda Lambert and Anderson East went public with their relationship a short time after they were linked online, and in their debut Instagram photo, the musicians were seen cuddling under a red flannel blanket. Weeks prior, however, as the song possibly reveals, Miranda Lambert may have been hesitant to move on from her relationship with Shelton.

“Are we fools for rushing in?
Cause I already dread the end
Lonely ain’t no place to start
I guess that’s just where we are
Oh, how I remember well
The sunset on September 12th
I disappeared to get a drink
You still kept your eyes on me”

Months after Miranda Lambert’s marriage came to an end, Shelton went public with his new relationship with Gwen Stefani, with whom he was starring alongside in The Voice Season 9. At the time, rumors swirled like wildfire that claimed Miranda Lambert and Gwen Stefani were in some sort of feud over Shelton.

Eventually, those rumors came to an end, and after months of Shelton and Stefani photos, fans began to see evidence of Miranda Lambert moving on. After dating publicly for a few weeks, Miranda Lambert was caught on video surprising her boyfriend at one of his shows on Valentine’s Day. During her surprise appearance, the two engaged in a duet of “My Girl.” Then, months later, Miranda Lambert and Anderson East made their red carpet debut at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

“I didn’t plan on falling fast
I didn’t know I could be kissed like that
Now I’m trading miles for minutes
This bed’s too big without you in it”

At the end of their duet, Miranda Lambert and Anderson East sing, “If it has to end in tears, I hope it’s in 60 years.”

Miranda Lambert and Anderson East have been facing rumors of an alleged engagement and future plans to wed for the past several months. So far, they haven’t announced any plans for marriage, and Lambert has not yet been seen with any suspicious rings on her finger. That said, the rumors of their possibly impending ceremony continue to swirl, the latest of which hit the web earlier this month.

Weeks ago, Life & Style claimed Miranda Lambert’s alleged “rush to the altar” had been placed on a “time out.” According to the report, which has since been debunked by Gossip Cop, Miranda Lambert’s busy schedule with the launch of her new album and preparation for her tour had led to her rumored wedding to East being postponed.

“[The] focus on her career has forced [Miranda Lambert] to put off another important project: her upcoming wedding,” the insider claimed.
