Black Friday 2016 Deals And Ads: Walmart And Sears Pre-Black Friday Sales Are Live — Are They Any Good?

Black Friday 2016, which will take place on November 25, is now only a little over a week away. While it remains one of the biggest days of the year for shopping, the sales actually start before the day itself. In addition to many Black Friday sales starting on Thanksgiving, others have already begun.

Today, Walmart and Sears announced that pre-Black Friday sales would begin on their websites. While the top doorbusters are still over a week away, both retailers are claiming “huge savings” for their online shoppers.

A more comprehensive listing of the sale items can be found at BestBlackFriday.com, but here are the top deals for both sales.

Additionally, you can save up to $50 by opening a Walmart credit card account. Many of the items in the sale may go in and out of stock, so check back often for updates.

How Does The Sale Compare To Walmart’s Black Friday Sale?

As expected, the actual Walmart sale is the more diverse event. With over 600 items, it is going to be among the larger sales, and the prices on premium electronics are very competitive. One of the featured deals in the current pre-Black Friday sale is a 500 GB Xbox One S Bundle with the choice of a bonus game, a movie, and an extra controller for $299 to $487.97. The final price will depend on your selections, but you can save up to $80.83.

On Black Friday, Walmart will be offering the Xbox One S White 500GB Battlefield Bundle for $249, which is a discount of $50. While it will be cheaper to get an Xbox One S if you wait until Black Friday, the current bundle may be better for your individual needs.

The pre-Black Friday event is also selling the Proscan PLDED4017 40? 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV for $169.99, which is a discount of $80. On Black Friday, you will be able to purchase an Element or Hisense 40? LED 1080p HDTV for $125. In this scenario, it is most likely better to wait until next week to purchase a television of this size. Both sets are comparable, but there is a premium to pay for getting it early.

Walmart’s actual Black Friday sale is scheduled to begin on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m. Online doorbusters should be available the entire day on Thanksgiving, but there is a chance that select doorbusters go on sale on Wednesday night.

Sears’ Pre-Black Friday Sale

For a limited time, Sears is holding their “Black Friday Now” sale on their website. It includes over 600 items, many of which are featured doorbusters, and it is only available online. Here are some of the more important items included in the sale.

  • NordicTrack Elite 10.9 Elliptical for $599.99 (save $1,000)
  • Christmas Outdoor Decor for 30 Percent Off
  • Craftsman 24V Max* Li-Ion 10? Cordless Chainsaw for $79.99 (save $80)
  • Samsung LED 19? HDTV 720p 60Hz for $127.99 (save $12)

  • Samsung WA45H7000AW 4.5 cu. ft. Top-Load Washer for $447.79 (save $252.20)

Free shipping is available on all orders of $49 or more. Additionally, members can earn up to 100 percent back in points on certain items.

How Does The Sale Compare To Sears’ Black Friday Sale?

Similar to the pre-Black Friday sale at Walmart, the Sears version has the same general rules. Some of the items included are comparable to doorbuster pricing that will be available on Black Friday, but the best items are still a week away.

One potentially better deal included in the Sears pre-Black Friday sale is a Samsung 40 Class LED Smart TV for $277.99. This TV normally retails for $449.99, so it is savings of $172. On Black Friday, Sears will sell a Samsung 40? Smart 1080p LED HDTV for $249.99, and the savings is only $150. While you will have to pay more for the deal that is live now, the overall savings are better.

As with the Walmart pre-Black Friday sale, items in the Sears pre-Black Friday sale may go in and out of stock.
