‘Avengers 3’: Fans Speculate ‘Infinity War – Part 1’ Deleted Photo Could Suggest Doctor Doom’s Character

The Avengers 3/Infinity War – Part 1 movie is the Russo brothers’ baby as this will probably mark an epic battle involving numerous cast of characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joe and Anthony Russo were on location doing some scouting, and they later tweeted what fans had speculated to resemble architecture found in Doctor Doom’s lair, according to ComicBook. The shape of the arches may remind a horror fan that it looks like something out of the Amityville house.

The Debate On Using Doctor Doom

When the Avengers: Infinity War directors were scouting, they may have just thought, “Hey, look! This looks a lot like Doctor Doom’s place!” After that, could they have snapped a photo for a keepsake and posted it to their social media? What raised suspicion among speculating fans was the fact it was deleted later on. So there was a trigger factor that made onlookers think that someone had an “oops” moment.

It’s Been Done Before, Why Not Again?

The only problem is the Doctor Doom character is owned by 20th Century Fox. That said, there’s no way that they could use him in Avengers: Infinity War. Of course, Marvel did have to sign off on Deadpool’s use of Negasonic Teenage Warhead while James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had to go through similar motions with Kurt Russell’s Ego, Star Lord’s father, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was interviewed by Collider regarding talks between his studios and Fox, he rather downplayed his response. Collider likened the relationship between the two studios as a “frozen tundra.”

“Well, it’s the same as it has always been. I don’t want to attribute it as a frozen wasteland or anything like that. We all get along and I see them occasionally but there’s no change in any dynamic.”

So it’s only rumor at this point, but it’s nice to think Doctor Doom could be brought into all of this. The comic book version of Infinity Gauntlet, which is the route Avengers: Infinity War is taking, had Doctor Doom on the side of the heroes. Doom realized the gravity of the situation that Thanos imposes a serious threat but does have an ulterior motive to obtain the gauntlet himself.

Many Characters Could Mean Making A Deal?

For the Infinity War movie, the Russo brothers did mention that there will be over 60 characters in the Avengers sequels so you would think they’d start doing everything in their power to get busy acquiring rights to characters owned by other studios. This is a signature epic event that involves people from all over the Marvel comic book universe. They pulled it off with Spider-Man, who is portrayed by Tom Holland, so why not get the snowball rolling with more?

Back in June, producer of Fatman on Batman, Matt Key, heard a Marvel/Fox crossover discussion via a “little bird.”

“I’ve heard from a few of my sources, my little birds that Fox and Marvel have … kind of talked, but not really. But like there’s interest from Fox, like, ‘Ooh, y’know, what they did with Sony and Spider-Man is actually pretty cool, like, maybe …”

Some had the opinion that Fox has a disdain for Marvel Studios via a deal they struck in the 90s that wasn’t so great. It was during a time Marvel Entertainment was about to go bankrupt and they sold their characters to Fox. Of course, this is just a rumor as much as the aforementioned Doctor Doom gossip.

Earlier this month, the Avengers 3 directors posted up a scouting photo of a spiral staircase. It looked to be a throwback to their Captain America: Civil War flick where Bucky was battling Steve Rogers. Back then that staircase was in Germany. The filming for this movie will mostly be in Atlanta.

Avengers 3 is scheduled to debut come May 4, 2018. This Infinity War (Part 1) movie will be its own entity.
