Manchester United Vs. Arsenal: Prediction, Preview, Teams News, & Betting Tips

Two of the giants of English football, Manchester United and Arsenal, will face each other in a colossal battle on November 19 at Old Trafford turf.

Manchester United will play Arsenal for the first time under newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho. A disastrous season at Chelsea last year got Mourinho sacked during mid-season. Things haven’t been great for United even though the “special one” has been handed the big job, which he says he’s always craved. United’s start to this season has been hugely disappointing as they have managed only 18 points from 11 games. In the last match, however, United won 3-1 against Swansea, inspired by Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has been in terrific form this season. The likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, and Theo Walcott have clicked together as a solid attacking unit.

In the league table, only two points separate the top four teams. Arsenal reside in fourth place with 24 points, just two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal’s last match was a draw against their fierce rivals Tottenham in the Emirates Stadium. With a win in that game, the Gunners were certain to move to the top of the Premier League table, but instead, they faltered and blew the chance.

The match will see Jose Mourinho against Arsene Wenger once again in the battle of the senior managers in England. Mourinho has edge against Wenger as the Portuguese has not lost a single game against his old foe in the Premier League.

However, this time Mourinho is the manager of Man Utd, after leaving Chelsea, and it will surely be interesting to watch who will come out on top in “Jose Mourinho vs. Arsene Wenger” battle.

Team News: Manchester United

Captain Wayne Rooney will be sidelined due to a knee injury he picked up in the match against Spain during the international break.

Centre-back duo Eric Bailey and Chris Smalling too will be unavailable for the selection for Mourinho as they are still undergoing treatment for their thigh muscle strain and knee injury, respectively.

Midfielder Ander Herrera has played well under Mourinho in recent matches, and he was rewarded with a first-ever call-up with his national team.

Certain things seem to worsen for Man United as right-back Valencia suffers from a broken arm and will surely miss the match against Arsenal.

Youngster Rashford might get a chance to fill the vacant position upfront since Rooney will miss this game.

Arsenal: Team News

Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez shrugged off injury concerns as he delivered a man-of-the-match performance in the qualifiers, where his two-goal brace saw Chile beat Uruguay 3-1.

Full back Hector Bellerin will be sidelined for few weeks due to a foot injury, and this is where Arsene Wenger will have a major headache. The Spaniard has been one of the fixtures of this Arsenal team, so it will be interesting for us how Wenger replaces his special talent.

Injuries have always troubled Wenger’s Arsenal team in recent seasons, but the likely return of Santi Cazorla will be a big boost for the Emirates outfit.

However, the likes of Danny Welbeck, Chuba Akpom, and Lucas Perez will be unavailable for the match against Man United.

Manchester United vs. Arsenal: Prediction

The match between these two giants will be nothing short of exciting. Jose Mourinho’s team looks disrupted at the moment due to injuries and lack of chemistry between players. Although Arsenal’s form is relatively good than of United, Injuries of key players like Sanchez and Cazorla will certainly hamper their game. Manchester United will feel desperate to win this tussle because fourth place seems to be running away from them. Arsene Wenger’s men will try to win against United on their own turf to bridge the gap between leader Liverpool.
