Britney Spears Has A ‘Slumber Party’ With Singer Tinashe

Britney Spears and Tinashe teased their new collaboration last month. Fans were quick and savvy to assume that it was for Britney’s new single “Slumber Party.” It turns out that the two dropped a remix version of the Glory track on Tuesday night (Nov. 15).

Right now, the track is out and streaming on the Glory (Deluxe) album on Spotify, according to Entertainment Weekly. Unfortunately, there is no accompanying music video. Spears further teased fans when she announced that the video for the song would be out on Friday, Nov. 18. She also included a snapshot of herself from the new music video, in which she’s dressed up in a red fur coat and a matching dress as she gets out of a black classic car. It’s a different look for Spears, who often wears glittery bodysuits on stage throughout her ongoing Las Vegas Residency, Britney: Piece of Me.

Tinashe previously revealed that Spears was her “idol” and she posted a photo from the video shoot on Instagram. She wrote underneath the caption, “The face you make when the rumors are true and you collabed with your idol & basically your whole life is a dream so you keep it cute for Brit but inside you are wigless and dead. (SIC)”

The R&B singer also teased a photo of herself from the recording studio. Rumors that the two were working together started shortly after she posted a photo of herself from Spears’ recording studio, according to Fact Magazine.

Fans assumed that she was the one who was going to be featured on Spears’ reggae-inspired track. Tinashe has been working on her own music as well. She just released her new project Nightride, which will be followed at a later date by Joyride, according to Rolling Stone.

“I see them as two things that are equally the same,” she previously told Rolling Stone. “I think you can be a combination of things, and that’s what makes people human and complex … I don’t like to be limited to one particular thing so I want to represent that duality and that sense of boundlessness in my art.”

Tinashe has been busy getting ready to release the follow-up to her debut, Aquarius. Her latest collaboration dropped last month with a video for UK producer KDA’s dancefloor hit “Just Say.”

Tinashe has proven that she’s a huge Britney Spears fan. Back in late August, she belted out a few lines of “… Hit Me Baby (One More Time)” during the 2016 MTV VMAs pre-show. According to People, Tinashe sounded exactly like the pop princess. Then she was asked how she prepares her vocals for a performance.

“Usually, for me, it comes with singing a little bit of Britney Spears,” she admitted. “That’s usually my go-to warmup.”

In late October, Spears teased the “Slumber Party” music video. She opened up about her second single to Extra TV. It turns out that Spears’ new music video was directed by Colin Tilley, according to PopCrush.

“We just did the video,” Spears coyly said. “It’s kind of like a younger Eyes Wide Shut theme. So, it’s kind of a little risqué. It’s very sexy, it’s very moody…and it’s fun! It’s fun.”

Host Mario Lopez asked Spears if she was inspired by a personal slumber party.

“No slumber parties….no one special at the moment,” she added.
