WWE News: Brock Lesnar Will Be Given the Win Over Goldberg at WWE Survivor Series

For months, the WWE Universe asked for Bill Goldberg. It took some time and speculation reached an apex, but the powers that be gave them Goldberg. At first, he was just involved with promoting WWE 2K17 for the company, but the WWE Universe continued to ask for him to make his return to WWE television.

At WWE Summerslam, Brock Lesnar pummeled Randy Orton and left him in a pool of his own blood, but the PPV went off the air with the Brooklyn crowd chanting for Goldberg. After that, it was only a matter of time before WWE delivered Goldberg, which came to fruition a few weeks back. Not only was Goldberg back in WWE, but he has one more match left against Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series.

Twelve years ago on the grandest stage of them all, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20 in a match that is considered a disaster in the WWE history books. A lot has happened to both men after all these years, but they will have a second chance to get it right in Toronto on Sunday night. However, WWE officials have some major concerns heading into the match, and they must decide who the winner will be.

WWE officials are said to be quite worried about what kind of crowd reaction the two WWE Superstars will receive from Toronto’s own. Lesnar has been strongly booked as the heel, so the hope is Goldberg receives a strong face reaction at WWE Survivor Series, or else their match could be a repeat of their first bout. Based on a new report, WWE will need Toronto on Goldberg’s side if the match is going to be successful.

Apparently, WWE officials are planning to give Brock the win over Goldberg at WWE Survivor Series. The fact is that Goldberg coming out of retirement to beat Lesnar after a 12-year absence would bury Brock and kill a lot of his “unstoppable” aura. However, WWE is also planning for Goldberg to put up a huge fight against The Beast and he’ll be getting a big sendoff after the loss as WWE Survivor Series goes off the air.

There have been some rumors about Goldberg getting another match at Wrestlemania 33 next year. A few opponents have been rumored as possibilities, but a WWE Hall of Fame induction seems much more likely as of this writing. That means WWE Survivor Series is likely to be the last match of his career, so Toronto being on his side is necessary because the “sendoff” angle won’t work if he’s being booed out of the building.

Brock Lesnar getting the victory over Goldberg will be good for his character because Paul Heyman has been making it clear that Lesnar has been bothered by the loss to Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20 for the last 12 years. Being able to conquer that demon and defeat Goldberg will get Brock fresh heel heat with the WWE Universe and launch him into WWE’s plans for him at the WWE Royal Rumble and then Wrestlemania 33.

Based on the rumors, Brock Lesnar is expected to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at the WWE Royal Rumble PPV. It’s unclear who he will be facing for the championship because it could be on the shoulder of Kevin Owens or Roman Reigns by January. There is also speculation that Lesnar will be facing Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania next year, but it’s undecided if he’ll be holding the WWE Universal title

First and foremost, WWE needs to get Brock Lesnar through WWE Survivor Series this Sunday before they move on to the next step. It’ll be a big night for both men because they have a rare chance for a do-over, and that doesn’t come around often in wrestling. Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar will be historic one way or another.
