Proceeds From Selena Gomez’s Revival World Tour Will Be Donated To Lupus Research, Justin Bieber Rumors Debunked

Selena Gomez is treating symptoms of Lupus in rehab and as rumors swirl regarding when she will make her way out of the facility, a new report has claimed the singer will be donating her Revival World Tour earnings to research for the illness.

In a post updated by Billboard magazine on November 14, it was revealed that Selena Gomez’s rep had confirmed prior to the start of her tour that proceeds from each ticket sold would be given to the Alliance for Lupus Research.

“Based in New York, ALR is a national voluntary health organization whose mission is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent lupus. Gomez’s camp says ALR was selected because of its broad reach. Gomez revealed her lupus diagnosis in a 2015 Billboard cover story,” Billboard magazine explained to readers.

Selena Gomez canceled parts of her Stars Dance Tour in 2013 and was later accused of secretly entering rehab to address a potential addiction to drugs. Ultimately, however, Selena Gomez came clean about her struggles with lupus and shot down the ongoing rumors of her alleged drug use.

“I was diagnosed with [autoimmune disease] Lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke,” she revealed to Billboard magazine in 2015.

Around the time Selena Gomez came clean about her struggles with the illness, she and Justin Bieber began facing rumors of a possible reunion and in late 2015, they were photographed together in Beverly Hills, where Bieber was living in a nearby hotel.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber dated from 2010 until 2012 and have been spotted together every so often in the years since.

Following Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s outing at the end of last year, Bieber embarked on a months-long romance with Hailey Baldwin but eventually re-sparked rumors of a rekindled romance with Gomez when he shared a throwback photo of the two of them together in a swimming pool. In the caption, Justin Bieber wrote, “Feels,” and shortly thereafter, Selena Gomez wrote, “Perfect” in the comments section of the post.

At that point, especially after Selena Gomez showed her support for Bieber at his Purpose World Tour concert in Los Angeles, fans believed a reunion was looming, but for whatever reason, their communication seemed to end at that point and Bieber moved forward by spending time with Nicola Peltz, Kourtney Kardashian, and Sofia Richie.

While Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber haven’t been seen together for several months, rumors regarding their relationship have consistently been swirling online and in one recent report, it was noted that Gomez would be making her musical comeback at an upcoming event — that Bieber would be unable to attend.

“[Selena Gomez] wants her first appearance back in front of her fans to be special and so if she does decide to do the appearance at the [2016 American Music Awards], she will want to do it big with perhaps a dazzling performance or a major announcement,” a source told Hollywood Life last week.

“Selena Gomez is relieved that Justin has tour dates on the night of the AMAs… With Justin unlikely to make an appearance at the show there is less stress surrounding the event for Selena,” the source added.

Another report shared by Headlines & Global News this week claimed that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber would both be attending the 2016 American Music Awards next week and suggested they were actually going to the event as one another’s dates. However, on November 15, Gossip Cop set the record straight claiming Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber would not be attending the event together and adding that the couple hadn’t gotten married recently, nor had Bieber visited the singer in rehab.
