Taylor Swift And Drake Aren’t Dating After All? He May Just Be Her Musical Mentor

Taylor Swift and Drake were faced with dating rumors weeks ago after the singer showed up to the rapper’s 30th birthday celebration at Delilah nightclub in West Hollywood, California.

Following Taylor Swift’s appearance, fans wondered how she and Drake got to know one another and wondered if something romantic was going on between them. Then, after Drake shared a photo of himself and Taylor Swift on Instagram, the rumor mill went into overdrive. However, according to the latest report, Taylor Swift and Drake are spending time together only for professional purposes.

“Drake has been [Taylor Swift’s] friend for a while and it seemed a no-brainer that she would spend time in the studio with him,” a source close to Swift told The Sun, via Hot New Hip Hop.

According to The Sun‘s source, Drake has helped produce a few songs for Taylor Swift and has also lent his vocals to the singer on at least one of her upcoming tracks. As the source explained, the new music from Taylor Swift and Drake is “a real mix of edgier hip-hop and R&B sounds.”

Taylor Swift hit the scene years ago as a country star but eventually transitioned into a pop star. Since then, she has continued to release hit after hit.

Taylor Swift and Drake’s time together came just weeks after the singer split from Tom Hiddleston after a short-lived romance. As fans will recall, Taylor Swift began dating Hiddleston in June after parting ways with Calvin Harris weeks prior.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris dated for 15 months before they split.

Although there was never a confirmation of a romance between the two musicians, there were claims of Taylor Swift and Drake getting to know one another as they indulged in secret dinners throughout Los Angeles.

“Drake and [Taylor Swift] are getting closer and they’re spending a lot of time together outside the studio,” a source told Hollywood Life weeks ago.

“They’ve had several secret, small, and intimate dinners together at two of Drake’s favorite restaurants in LA. He’s being really, really low key about it, virtually going under the radar when they’re out in public.”

“At one of the dinners he told [Taylor Swift] he likes to be very secretive when he’s getting to know someone and hit Taylor with his famous line ‘I’m all on the low, take a famous girl out with me, no paparazzi’ from the ‘Versace’ cut he did with Migos,” the source said.

“That made Taylor smile. She’s not used to being talked to and charmed the way Drake does it. They’re just friends and they’re enjoying each other’s company.”

There were also rumors regarding the possible reaction of Rihanna, who was dating Drake until weeks before he and Taylor Swift were linked.

While Rihanna never publicly addressed the rumored romance between Taylor Swift and her former boyfriend, who professed his love to her on stage during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, a Hollywood Life report claimed she was not happy about their time together.

As the report explained, a source claimed Rihanna had text messaged Drake and demanded he remove all photos of her from his page because she did not want to be one of his conquests or a notch on the rapper’s belt. According to the report, Rihanna’s demand happened after Drake mysteriously uploaded a photo of himself and Taylor Swift attending his birthday party — nearly two weeks after the event took place.

The report also revealed that Taylor Swift and Drake were planning on taking the stage for an epic performance at the upcoming 2017 Grammy Awards. In addition to Taylor Swift’s reportedly upcoming new songs, she and Drake may perform one of those songs at the awards show this coming February.
