Rapper Gunplay reportedly bonded out from custody in Miami today after previously turning himself in to Miami-Dade police earlier this month on an outstanding armed robbery warrant. He was reportedly granted house arrest for the pending charges in addition to posting a $150,000 bond as a condition for his release.

According to NBC Miami, Gunplay (real name Richard Morales) is accused of aggravated assault with a firearm and armed robbery. In an April 13 altercation, Gunplay, 33, allegedly brandished a gun and struck a man (who may have been his accountant) in the head at a Miami tax-return preparation business. He and another suspect allegedly stole a gold chain and a cell phone in the altercation. The warrant in connection with this incident was issued in May.

According to Gunplay’s lawyer, his client “should be home with his family shortly. This is [the] first step in clearing his name so he can continue his emerging music career.”

Gunplay was allegedly involved in a brawl at the BET Awards last month. According to TMZ, “A rep for Gunplay tells TMZ, the rapper was advised to turn himself in by his attorney following the highly-publicized brawl, which likely drew police attention to the active warrant.”
