Olivia Newton-John, the English-Australian actress and singer, wants to help fans celebrate the spirit of Christmas with the launch of her new Christmas album on November 11.

Titled Friends for Christmas, the singer’s recently-released Christmas album features beautiful duets with another Australian singer, John Farnham. The album was recorded at Santa Barbara studio in California and features popular Christmas songs like “Silent Night,” “Merry Little Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “White Christmas.”

Friends for Christmas is the latest in a series of albums Newton-John has recorded especially for Christmas. Earlier albums include ‘Tis the Season, The Christmas Collection, Christmas Wish, and This Christmas.

John Farnham is a good friend of Olivia Newton-John, and the veteran musicians collaborated previously when they recorded Two Strong Hearts Live, a live album with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Melbourne. According to News Australia, Olivia Newton-John spoke about her fantastic experience working on the album with John Farnham.

“It was such a joy singing these beautiful holiday songs with my favorite singer and good mate, John Farnham. The holidays are about family and friends and having this chance to sing these classics with John was pure fun from beginning to end!”

Many artists make the most of the festive season by launching Christmas albums, which usually sell very well. However, Olivia Newton-John considers Christmas to be a source of inspiration and helps her face the challenges of life. Olivia Newton-John has faced many ups and downs in her life with patience and determination.

In 1992, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and battled her condition to successfully resurface on the music scene.

She later experienced extremely worrying times when her boyfriend Patrick McDermott disappeared during a fishing trip in 2005. The singer was shocked by claims that Patrick had faked his death to escape financial liabilities. Before this relationship, Olivia Newton-John already had a failed marriage with Matt Lattanzi, with whom she had a daughter, Chloe.

Chloe herself decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, but she was forced to face the challenges of living up to her mother’s expectations. Finding it all too stressful, Chloe spiraled out of control and resorted to drugs, alcohol, and antidepressants. However, Chloe proved to be as strong as her mother, and she was able to rid herself of her demons and successfully bounce back.

According to People magazine, Newton-John revealed that her daughter is planning to launch her own music album, which will be based on her struggles.

“We have a great relationship now. [Chloe’s] going to release music she made 10 years ago that she wasn’t ready to put out and it’s really powerful. She’s ready to talk about stuff in her life because she’s moved past it.”

Olivia Newton-John is proud to be the mother of such a strong daughter who’s not only taken back control of her life but ventured into fashion by launching Equestrian, her own fashion line. As for Olivia Newton-John’s love life, the Grease star has finally found love again. Just three years after Patrick McDermott’s disappearance, Newton-John fell in love with John Easterling, the founder of the Amazon Herb Company.

Easterling supports Newton-John’s initiatives in promoting cancer research. According to the Huffington Post, the popular Australian singer expressed her happiness in finally discovering the love of her life.

“I always tell my friends you’re never too old to find love. I found the love of my life at 59 going on 60! I’m grateful.”
