Las Vegas, NV — In a court appearance today, the attorney for Flavor Flav says his client plans to fight the pending domestic-related criminal charges against him which means that a not-guilty plea could be on the horizon. The judge scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case for November 20.

The lawyer also indicated that Flavor Flav wants to reconcile with his fiancee Elizabeth Trujillo despite their argument that required a police response.

As The Inquisitr previously reported, the rapper/VH1 reality star was arrested in Las Vegas for assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence (battery) early last Wednesday morning. If found guilty on these charges, Flavor Flav (real name William Drayton Jr.), 53, could get up to six years behind bars for felony assault and six months for misdemeanor batter.

Further details have emerged as to what allegedly happened in the Flavor Flav domestic disturbance at his home last week according to AP:

“Drayton is accused of pushing his fiancee to the floor and wielding two knives as he chased and threatened her 17-year-old son during an argument early last Wednesday at their home in Las Vegas.”

Although the police report has apparently yet to be released into the public domain, CNN claims that the Flavor Flav allegedly grabbed Trujillo and threw her to the ground twice after the verbal altercation. When her son intervened on her behalf, Flavor Flav grabbed the two knives from the kitchen.

Flavor Flav’s former group Public Enemy has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
