California High School Student Allegedly Beaten For Supporting Trump On Instagram [Video]

Woodside, California, High School student Jade Armenio was reportedly assaulted by another student for expressing support for presidential candidate Donald Trump on Instagram.

The violent incident may have been the result of social media misunderstanding, however.

Armenio was allegedly confronted by another student in the schoolyard on the day after the election and accused of “hating Mexicans.” After an exchange of dialogue, Jade was thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched in the head according to the disturbing video of the encounter. See cell phone footage embedded below.

Many of the local high schoolers were expressing opinions on social media about the election, Jade Armenio claimed in discussing the attack that followed her post that she hoped the New York real estate mogul and first-time candidate would win, ABC7 of San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose reported.

“‘This girl comes up to me and she said, ‘Do you hate Mexicans?’ and I was like, ‘no,’ and she said, ‘You support Trump. You hate Mexicans.’ Armenio says the girl hit her, threw her to the ground, pulled out her earrings and hair. She was left with a bloody nose and scratches and bruises.”

The teen’s mother said she discouraged her daughter from disclosing her political views on social media “but even if she does, she should never be hit like that.”

“Jade believes she was targeted because she had put up a screen capture on Instagram projecting the now-president-elect’s victory. She says her attacker may have misconstrued one of her comments on that post,” the College Fix added. Another user apparently left a comment that disparaged Mexicans, and other students evidently interpreted or misinterpreted the thread to the effect that the sophomore agreed with those sentiments when she wrote “one of the few things we can agree on.”

“Todd Armenio insisted his daughter’s ‘we can agree on’ comment was about the original pro-Trump message and was [not] an anti-Mexican slight,” the New York Post detailed. “She would never do that. We don’t raise our kids like that,” he said.

Jade is staying home temporarily until thing at the high school settle down.”The school said in a statement that it had investigated the incident and taken appropriate disciplinary measures,” the Daily Mail noted. For safety reasons, the teen may switch to another high school in the area. She is also apparently on the receiving end of a lot of social media hate since the incident.

“The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is working with the school, the involved students and their parents in their investigation, spokesman Detective Sal Zuno said. Meanwhile, the girl who attacked Jade has been suspended pending an expulsion hearing,” in the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Emotions are running high all across the country in the aftermath of a presidential election that the mainstream news media told everyone was a lock for Hillary Clinton but turned out to be an electoral college landslide for Donald Trump.

In fact, Woodside High School students staged a walk-out on Thursday morning and gathered on the quad to protest the victory of Donald Trump, who is now the president-elect.

In an entirely separate incident, a Houston-area mother threw her young son out of the house after he voted for Donald Trump in a mock school election. The woman subsequently told authorities that the video was meant as a joke and she has apologized. Elsewhere in the Houston area, an 11-year-old boy was assaulted by classmates after voting for Trump in a mock election, Fox26 reported. Officials have suspended the other students pending an investigation, and the parents are pressing criminal charges.
