Hatchimals Are Must-Have Toys This Holiday Season: How Can You Get Your Hands On One?

When it comes to the gifts that your kids are going to want this holiday season, Hatchimals is going to be at the top of the list. Hatchimals are really cute toys that children are begging for, but the problem is Hatchimals are really hard to get your hands on.

Us Magazine shared a bit about this new toy Hatchimals and how you can get one for your kids this Christmas. It isn’t easy at all, but they are out there, and a few options to buy Hatchimals do exist.

Hatchimals come in five different types: Pengualas, Draggles, Owlicorns, Burtles, and Bearakeets. They are in an egg, and over time, the Hatchimals hatch and show you what you get. The more a kid plays with the Hatchimal, it starts to open up for them. It has three stages, which are baby, toddler, and child. It also sings “Hatchy Birthday” between each stage. It is being compared to the ’90s Tamagotchi toys.

If you are lucky enough to find a Hatchimal at the store, they are only $60. Here’s the problem: They aren’t easy to find, and people are now selling the Hatchimals on places like eBay for hundreds and thousands of dollars. Hatchimals are working hard to help everyone get one. They shared on their website all of the details about how you can get a Hatchimal, but it may be after Christmas.

“The consumer response to Hatchimals has been extraordinary, exceeding all expectations. Some of our first shipments have already sold out. While additional product will hit retail shelves in November, we anticipate this inventory will also sell out quickly. We have increased production and a whole new batch of Hatchimals will be ready to hatch in early 2017. This is a special season and we don’t want anyone to be disappointed, nor do we support inflated prices from nonauthorized resellers. We are working on creative solutions to help kids and their parents withstand the wait. In the interim, some retailers are developing presale and/or rain-check programs for redemption in January. We will continue to update with program details as they become available.”

It does sound like you might be able to give your child a raincheck that says they will get a Hatchimal in the future, but you know most kids will want the real Hatchimal in their hands instead. If a store is getting Hatchimals and people find out, they are rushing in and grabbing them off the shelves. It will be hard to find one in the store. If money isn’t a problem for you, then you can get an Hatchimal online, but it won’t be cheap.

A quick search on eBay will show you what the Hatchimals are going for there, and it isn’t cheap. Right now, they are selling for over $100 each, but these auctions haven’t ended yet. The ones that have sold are selling for around $125 on up. This does make it affordable, but you are paying about double for them. Some parents will do this for their children just so they can have a Hatchimal this holiday season and not have to wait for it.

Right now, sellers are also posting Hatchimals on Amazon, and they are going a bit higher there. The site i4u shared that Walmart and Toys R Us are both getting in the Hatchimals all the time, but they are gone as soon as they get them. Walmart even has them on their Black Friday ad for $48.88, but there is no word on how many they will have to sell at each store.
