Was Bradley Cooper Really The Only White Guy At The White House BET Party? Dave Chappelle Gets Candid On ‘SNL’

Dave Chappelle spent the last two minutes of his legendary Saturday Night Live monologue telling the audience about his recent visit to the White House for a star studded BET party. Was Bradley Cooper really the only white guy at the event?

Dave Chappelle told a story during his epic SNL monologue this past weekend about what an inspiring sight it was to see the White House full of black people. Oh, and Bradley Cooper.

Dave Chappelle blasted Donald Trump, said he voted for Hillary Clinton, and called the election “disgusting” in his record-breaking eleven-minute opening monologue. Chappelle ended his bit on a positive note, talking about certain situations which gave him hope for the future. Specifically, a party at the White House sponsored by BET.

Chappelle mentioned how awesome it was to see the White House filled with so many African-Americans after they had been banned and kept out for so long.

“I looked at that black room, and saw all those black faces, and Bradley, and I saw how happy everybody was. These people who had been historically disenfranchised. It made me feel hopeful and it made me feel proud to be an American and it made me very happy about the prospects of our country.

“So, in that spirit, I’m wishing Donald Trump luck. And I’m going to give him a chance, and we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too. Thank you very much.”

Along with their legendary host Dave Chappelle, Saturday Night Live had musical performances by A Tribe Called Quest who performed their new song, “We The People.”

“All you Black folks, you must go
All you Mexicans, you must go
And all you poor folks, you must go
Muslims and gays, boy, we hate your ways
So all you bad folks, you must go.”

According to the Washington Post, the Obama’s epic BET house party was full of celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Samuel L. Jackson, Janelle Monae, and yes, Bradley Cooper.

“Upon arrival, the 300 or more guests, including supermodel Naomi Campbell, comedian Dave Chappelle and actor Bradley Cooper, surrendered their cellphones — a common practice when the Obamas want to really cut loose.”

Obama spoke at the beginning of the evening and explained that the People’s House should reflect the diversity that defines the American people. The night was full of dancing and laughter and for many, a very special and historical evening.

“And while much of the music that you will hear this evening — gospel, R&B, rap — is rooted in the African American experience, it’s not just black music. This is an essential part of the American experience. It’s a mirror to who we are, and a reminder of who we can be.”

The full press release was published on Business Wire and confirmed the actor’s appearance at the BET party. Bradley Cooper even shared some personal thoughts at the event.

“Hosted by Terrence J and Regina Hall, ‘BET PRESENTS LOVE & HAPPINESS: AN OBAMA CELEBRATION’ featured electrifying performances by Usher, Common, Janelle Monae, Leslie Odom Jr., The Roots, De La Soul, Jill Scott, Yolanda Adams, Bell Biv DeVoe, Michelle Williams and Kiki Sheard.

“Superstars Samuel L. Jackson, Angela Bassett, Bradley Cooper and Jesse Williams also joined in the festivities sharing poignant and personal thoughts about President Obama and what his legacy has meant to them.”

Was Dave Chappelle’s BET shout-out on SNL this past weekend for laughs or for promotional purposes?

Turns out, BET will be presenting a special airing of the event tomorrow, November 15 at 9 p.m., called “BET PRESENTS LOVE & HAPPINESS: AN OBAMA CELEBRATION.”

BET Networks Chairman and CEO explained the importance of this year’s party, playfully dubbed “Barack Obama’s Block Party.”

“Our country has been led for the past eight years by an extraordinary President and First Lady.

“We have all witnessed history in the making and I am humbled by this momentous opportunity for BET Networks to join the Obamas for this musical celebration.”
