Melania Trump – Things You Don’t Know About Your New First Lady

Melania Trump is a former model who has now become the most powerful woman in the world. The United States of America is all set to say adieu to Michelle Obama and welcome Donald Trump’s wife as their new First Lady.

The United States’ First Lady is not only the wife of the president but has the potential to do many things to help her citizens. If one goes down memory lane, there has been a few First Ladies who actually changed the outlook of many. Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, Abigail Adams and Eleanor Roosevelt are just a few names who have been considered as the best First Ladies of all times.

So many Americans are wondering what would Melania be like when Donald Trump will get ahold of the oval office in January 2017. Here are few things to keep in mind about the new First Lady as she makes her transition to the matriarch of America.

Melania Is a Slovenian-Born Model

America’s new First Lady was born in a small industrial town on the banks of the Sava River — this makes her the second First Lady who was not born in America.

According to the LA Times, she first came to U.S. on a visitor visa in August 1996 and obtained her work visa in October. Through her lawyer, she has indicated that she first entered the United States on a business visitor visa. After that, she regularly returned to Slovenia to obtain a series of four more one-year work visas because, during that time, Slovenians could only obtain one-year visas in the United States.

It was reported back in November by Associated Press that she was paid $20,056 for 10 modeling jobs in America in 1996 before she had legal permission to work in the country. In response, her lawyer stated the documents on which Associated Press relied were not verified.

“These documents, which have not been verified, do not reflect our records including corresponding passport stamps.”

Small Town Girl To Super Model To First Lady

Melania began her modeling career at the age of 16 when she first posed for the Slovenian fashion photographer Stane Jerko. At the age of 18, she was signed by a modeling agency in Milan, Italy. In 1992, she was named runner-up for Jana Magazine’s “Look Of The Year” contest, held in Ljubljana.

Following her immigration to the country, she appeared on the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, Ocean Drive, New York Magazine, Allure, Vogue, GQ and many others. Apart from this, she was even featured as a bikini model in the 2000 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

After marrying Donald, and after his nomination for the presidential run, Melania has always been very supportive. In November 2015, when asked about her husband’s presidential campaign, she said the following.

“I encouraged him because I know what he will do and what he can do for America. He loves the American people and he wants to help them.”

After her successful career, she has indeed become an inspiration for all young girls out there.

Melania Wants To Stop Bullying

A few days back, America’s new First Lady announced her role as the world’s most powerful woman. She recently made a statement that along with her team, she is going to eradicate bullying from the free world.

“It is never OK when a 12-year-old girl or boy is mocked, bullied or attacked. It is terrible when that happens on the playground and it is unacceptable when it’s done by someone with no name hiding on the internet.”

The United States of America has found their new president in Donald Trump, and many are excited for his new policies to redefine the country and how he will make “America Great Again.” Furthermore, it would be interesting to see Melania Trump’s role as the new First Lady.
