WWE News: Triple H Reveals The Truth About Shawn Michaels And His Status As Head Coach Of NXT

Shawn Michaels has had a working relationship with WWE for decades now, and it is no surprise that he’s still somewhat around due to his friendship with Triple H. The “Heartbreak Kid” has retired from the ring, but it doesn’t appear as if he’s done with the company. That’s why it wasn’t surprising when he was recently named the head coach of the NXT performance center. Well, things need to slow down a bit and Triple H explains why that is.

On a recent episode of “The Kevin Gill Show,” a few famous wrestling names appeared and talked about a number of topics. Kevin Nash, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, and Scott Hall talked about wrestling, WWE, NXT, and numerous other things…including Shawn Michaels.

At one point, Nash even had some interesting information to drop about Michaels as transcribed by WrestleZone, and it was a reveal that came out of nowhere. All of a sudden, Nash asked if anyone else knew that Shawn Michaels was the “new Head of the WWE Performance Center.”

Scott Hall said he knew about that but Waltman didn’t seem to have a clue about it. Nash elaborated a bit more on this new tidbit of information.

“Oh yeah, he’s moving to Florida with the family and everything. If you thought that NXT was something wait ’til that son of a b**ch gets down there and gives them his magic. There is nobody better than him. Physically nobody better. Psychology nobody better. It’s going to be a game changer. I don’t know what the hell they are paying him but it’s got to be a lot because to get Shawn to do the 9-5…”

Nash went on to talk about Michaels and his family moving to Orlando and out of Texas so that he could become the head coach of NXT according to Sports Keeda. It was a rather interesting announcement considering there had been no official word from WWE regarding this move.

Well, there is a reason that WWE hasn’t made any kind of big announcement of the move and it appears to be because it isn’t true. WrestleZone reported that Triple H has spoken out on Shawn Michaels being the new head coach of the NXT Performance Center and says it isn’t true.

On Friday, Triple H conducted a conference call as the company leads up to NXT Takeover in Toronto next week. During the call, he talked about the event, the matches, and a number of other topics including what Nash had recently said.

With that, Triple H denied the report that Michaels was now the new head coach of the NXT Performance Center and confirmed that Matt Bloom (A-Train, Giant Bernard, Tensai) is still in that position and will continue on in it.

Kevin Nash is no stranger to jokes and pranks, but it is interesting that he would spill this kind of information and pull it out of thin air. He seemed to have knowledge of the situation per the interview and if true, Triple H may have simply denied it if the company isn’t yet ready to make the announcement.

Then again, there may be no truth to it at all.

Shawn Michaels has a lot of different projects going on in his life and that isn’t even mentioning enjoying time with his family. There’s always the chance that he could do more with WWE at some point in the future or even get involved behind the scenes like Triple H is. As of now, though, HBK isn’t the new head coach of the NXT Performance Center in Florida. That job still belongs to Matt Bloom, despite what Kevin Nash has said.
