‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Abigail Returns, How Will Everyone React?
Days of Our Lives fans are about to get a treat. Abigail Deveraux is officially back in Salem, and her return will be shocking to say the least. According to Yahoo! TV, the character has returned after her husband, Chad DiMera, and family, Jennifer Horton and JJ Devearaux, all believed her to be dead. In addition to Abigail’s return, fans will see that actress Kate Mansi, who previously held the role, as been replaced with actress Marci Miller after deciding to leave the soap earlier this year.
According to Marci Miller, everyone will be totally shocked to find out that Abigail is not only alive, but back in Salem. Days of Our Lives viewers have watched as Chad, JJ, and Jennifer all mourned the loss of Abigail in very different ways, and it nearly torn the family apart. However, everyone is finally beginning to heal and move on with their lives. Abigail’s big reveal will stun them, and likely have them crying with joy.
“They all really think that she’s gone. They’ve gone through the process of finding out, grieving, mourning, and started a path to healing, like anybody does after something like that, and to then be broadsided… ‘Shock’ is definitely an understatement.
“Imagine if you had a child, or a mother, or a loved one that you thought was dead, and then, all of a sudden, there they are! When I think about it personally, it’s almost unrelatable. My emotional life almost can’t grasp what that would even look like, or what that would be like. They were really interesting first scenes to play, because as an actor, Marci comes to the show, and some of the first encounters that I have with [the cast] are them seeing me for the first time back from the dead.”

In addition to Abigail’s crazy return to Salem, Days of Our Lives fans will be very interested to see how Chad DiMera handles the news. Chad is finally in a good place after Abby’s death, and has seemingly even begun to develop some romantic feelings for Gabi. Since viewers know that JJ has cheated on Gabi, is it possible that she and Chad will share some intimate moments before he finds out his wife is still alive?
Meanwhile, viewers also know that Chad’s brother, Andre DiMera, had something to do with Abigail’s disappearance and keeping her hidden. Days of Our Lives fans can’t wait for the whole story to be revealed in the upcoming weeks as everyone is dying to know where Abby has been, and what she’s been doing. Whatever happens, Chad will eventually find out that Andre was behind keeping his wife from him, and the brothers will likely become mortal enemies yet again.
Of course, Marci Miller has some big shoes to fill after fan favorite Kate Mansi’s depature. However, the actress reveals that she’s having a great time in her new role, and that the fans have been sending her positive messages of love since news dropped that she landed the Days of Our Lives gig.
“There’s an amount of pressure, inevitably, in a recast. Initially, I think I was a little bit nervous, and maybe even a touch intimidated, but as I got started, it’s been such a pleasant surprise. The fans have been so warm, and so welcoming, and there’s really been such a positive foundation that’s been laid with the Abigail character, and the relationship between she and Chad. I feel like I hit the jackpot, because it’s deep, it’s complex, it’s fun, it’s heartbreaking … there’s just so much to it, and I’m really grateful to get the opportunity to play with it.”
