Body Language Expert Reveals What Really Transpired In First Meeting Of Obama And Trump

Obama and Trump may have mounted a united front for the sake of a polarized America, but a body language expert says there is definitely more than meets the eye, the Daily Mail is reporting.

The two feuding politicians met on Thursday at the White House with a promise to work together towards a seamless transition of power. The 70-year-old politician called Obama a “good man” and said he was “looking forward to dealing with the president in the future.” Obama in kind said he was “very encouraged by the interest in President-elect Trump to work with my team.”

Many people are breathing a sigh of relief that the meeting went well and that the rival politicians doused tensions for the good of the country. However, Patti Wood, a body language expert, has revealed there was plenty of tension between the pair.

Wood had a strong perspective of the body language that the incumbent president and the president-elect exuded. She said Trump was “tentative, serious and perhaps fearful” while the outgoing president looked “extremely fatigued, resigned and not hopeful.”

“If you look at the seating position—their lower legs, they are both in the male, alpha position saying, ‘I am a man.'”

The body language expert, however, drew attention to the fact that Obama’s legs were further apart. Wood said it demonstrated a show of strength and the present president subtly saying “I’m still on top.” Wood said Trump’s hands in a “downward prayer position” showed that the Manhattan billionaire just learned something new.

“The thing that is very significant is Trump’s hand position. My read is that he has learned something he didn’t know before. It’s a tentative hand position.”

Patti Wood, who has been described by the Washington Post as the “Babe Ruth of body language experts,” also revealed that Obama resting his arms on his legs showed that he was weary.

The most powerful man in the world said the position of president was bigger than anyone. He added in a cordial tone that he was encouraged that both parties had agreed to set aside their differences in a bid to move forward.

“I have been very encouraged by the interest in President-elect Trump to work with my team around many of the issues that this great country faces and I believe that it is important for all regardless of party and regardless of political preferences to now come together, work together to deal with the many challenges we face.”

Patti Wood, who holds a BA and MA in body language and nonverbal communication, is not convinced of Obama’s words. The author of seven books pointed out that the eye movement of President Obama told a different story.

“There is a part where he says he has been encouraged. As he says it he closes his eyes. I call that an eye block. That tells me he doesn’t feel totally encouraged.”

Wood, who has been interviewed by CNN, FOX News, the Huffington Post, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Oprah and USA Today, said the Obama was being presidential, adding that he was bogged down with the difficulties facing the nation.

Surprisingly, Patti said Donald Trump was serious with the statements he made, reaffirming again that he had heard something that made him fearful. President-elect Trump and the first lady in waiting arrived at the White House through a back entrance and left the way they came.

In 2008, President George Bush and his first lady, Laura, gave the Obamas a good welcome when they arrived at the White House. Photographers had free access and took an avalanche of pictures of both couples as they moved around.

It did not happen when the Trumps were at the White House. However, President-elect Trump thumbed down any claims of tension and awkwardness, tweeting that he had a good time with President Obama and that his wife also enjoyed Michelle’s company.

A photo of both women having a conversation in the Yellow Oval Room was released after media pressure. According to a source, Michelle Obama gave Mrs. Trump a grand tour of her living quarters and advised her on the demands of raising her 10-year-old son within the confines of the White House.

Michelle Obama has not appeared in public since Donald Trump won the mandate to be America’s 45th president. She was not at her husband’s side when he implored Americans to support the incoming Republican administration.
