Michelle Obama And Melania Trump Meeting: What Did They Talk About?


First lady Michelle Obama and incoming first lady Melania Trump met each other for the first time on Thursday at the White House. The two women were closed off from the media while President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump conducted their first meeting as well. The press maintained tight focus on the sit-down between Obama and Trump, but their wives met in private.

President Obama described his first meeting with the president-elect as “excellent” and it comprised of “wide-ranging” topics.

What did Michelle Obama and Melania Trump address during their own meet-and-greet? According to several reports, the current first lady was giving Mrs. Trump a tour of the White House and they talked about various highlights of being a first lady.

Reporters at CNN assessed what Michelle Obama and Melania Trump talked about during their meeting, with one of the topics being about raising children. Barron Trump, Donald and Melania’s 10-year-old son, will be nation’s next first kid. The Obamas raised their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, for eight years inside the White House and did a great job maintaining their privacy. Melania surely had many questions for Michelle about how to keep life as normal as possible for her son.

As the Inquisitr wrote, Barron Trump will be the first boy to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy, Jr. back in 1963.

President Obama told reporters that Michelle and Melania also had an “excellent” discussion upon their meeting.

“[First Lady] Michelle has had a chance to meet the incoming first lady [Melania Trump] and they had an excellent conversation as well,” said President Obama.

The photo released of Michelle Obama and Melania Trump shows a seemingly friendly exchange. If there was any awkwardness between the women, they succeeded in not displaying it.

People reports that Melania Trump, 46, will be the nation’s first immigrant first lady since 1825. She’s a native of Slovenia who moved to the United States in 1996. She became a citizen in 2006 after marrying Donald Trump.

While information is relatively scarce over the meeting between Michelle Obama and Melania Trump, it’s presumed that the two touched on the basics of being a first lady residing in the White House in addition to all of the aspects of holding the position. Melania was most likely introduced to key areas of the residence and how everything functions. On the subject of representing the nation, Mrs. Trump was probably enlightened into the first lady’s vast experience over the past eight years.

NBC News reports that Mrs. Obama also showed Mrs. Trump the Truman Balcony, and White House spokesman Josh Earnest confirmed that the two did discuss what it’s like raising children in the White House

There’s a great deal of responsibility that comes with being first lady of the United States, and Melania Trump is entering into a whole new world. Unlike her predecessor, Melania hasn’t been exposed to life in public office. To go from being a fashion model to suddenly being the wife of the U.S. president will be an overwhelming adjustment even to the most self-assured and poised of women.

Melania Trump has expressed an interest in fighting cyber bullying on social media when it comes to children. She said in a recent speech that it’s going to be one of her core initiatives as first lady. Michelle Obama advocated for fighting childhood obesity.
