Ohio State Quarterback Braxton Miller was forced to leave Saturday’s game against Purdue after a hard hit in the third quarter.

ESPN reports that Miller was tackled by cornerback Josh Johnson late in the third quarter. Miller laid on the field for several minutes before he was eventually helped to his feet by team doctors. The potential Heisman candidate was taken into the locker room to be evaluated and was eventually transferred to a nearby hospital.

Coach Urban Meyer said that he didn’t no the extent of his quarterback’s injury.

Meyer said:

“He’s like my son, and all these guys are. I just had concern because I think it was a head, and that concerns all of us. I’m going to go find out right now.”

Miller completed threw for 113 yards and ran for another 47 before he was injured in the third quarter. Kenny Guiton stepped into the QB position and helped OSU beat Purdue 29-22 in overtime.
