Dennis Quaid Divorce: Actor’s Wife Files For Separation Again

Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Quaid are officially ending their eight-year marriage, E! News is reporting.

Just five months after withdrawing her initial petition for divorce, Kimberly, 40, filed for divorce once again on Friday and is asking for sole custody of their 4-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe.

A statement issued by the couple’s representative reads:

“Kimberly and Dennis Quaid have decided to legally separate after eight years of marriage. They ask that their privacy and the privacy of their family be respected during this difficult time.”

According to TMZ, infidelity is the reason behind the split.

“Kimberly is fed up with Dennis’ cheating and wants out of the marriage,” a source told the celebrity gossip factory. “He’s not a good husband.”

Kimberly, Quaid’s third wife, initially filed for divorce in March and at the time said her marriage to the actor had “become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”

In May, however, she seemingly had a change of heart and withdrew the petition as the couple attempted to reconcile their marriage. In July, they took a widely publicized trip to Bora Bora to celebrate their anniversary.

“Ultimately, they want to try and make things work, not just for the sake of the kids, but because they both still have very strong feelings for one another,” a source told E! News at the time.

Hollywood Life notes a failed marriage isn’t the only turmoil the couple has endured in recent years.

In November 2007, Dennis and Kimberly’s twins almost died because the hospital accidentally gave them a massive overdose of the blood thinner heparin, putting them at risk of bleeding to death.
