Miley Cyrus Attacked On Twitter For Supporting Hillary Clinton

Miley Cyrus has just received a heap of criticism for her support for Hillary Clinton, according to Refinery29. The 23-year-old singer has been saying #ImWithHer for quite some time now, but she probably didn’t expect such treatment from her followers.

As the United States approaches November 8’s Presidential election, everyone is understandably on edge, because America’s fate is at stake. So it comes as little wonder that some Twitter users got personal and offended Miley Cyrus for her recent post urging people to vote for Clinton.

Miley Cyrus took to Twitter to post an innocent throwback photo of her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, with the 42nd U.S. President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea, and some of her followers went crazy.

In the caption to the snap, Miley Cyrus wrote “Cyrus for Clinton since the beginning,” and urged Americans to head to voting booths on November 8 and cast their votes. But some of her followers didn’t seem too happy about the tweet and accused the “Wrecking Ball” singer of wanting a “criminal politician” and “a rapist” to run America.

And while some praised Miley Cyrus for her support for Clinton, and advised against voting for Donald Trump, others attacked the singer for changing her opinions too often. Her followers reminded the singer that she once was a supporter of Bernie Sanders, a man who lost the Democratic nomination to Clinton.

Naturally for Twitter, the comments soon became personal and mean. Atter all, not all of Miley Cyrus fans agree that it’s Hillary Clinton who should run the country.

But they would certainly be happy if Miley Cyrus herself ran for President one day. Why not? The “We Can’t Stop” singer has been doing some humanitarian work lately, according to People magazine.

Miley Cyrus recently sneaked homeless teens from My Friend’s Place, a center that helps homeless young people, on the set of The Voice. And from the looks on their faces, those teens had the time of their life!

Miley Cyrus gave out Happy Hippie T-shirts to the homeless and gave them a tour around The Voice backstage. In fact, the “Wrecking Ball” singer even allowed the group of teens to take turns to sit in red judges’ seats.

After the exciting day on the set of The Voice, Miley Cyrus sat down with the teens to have a discussion about the importance of music in their everyday lives. The singer also listened to the homeless teens telling her what issues they face every day.

In a clip exclusively obtained by People magazine, Miley Cyrus is seen chatting with the group of teens. The singer tells them that she has heard lots of stories on The Voice already, and assured them that she is doing all this to give them “the spotlight.”

“Honestly, I want y’all to know there are some stories that are probably not far off from things that you’ve experienced.”

Shortly after visiting My Friend’s Place in 2014, Miley Cyrus launched her Happy Hippie Foundation, which focuses on putting an end to the modern-day struggles of LGBTQ youth.

“Working with My Friend’s Place and being a part of that gives me purpose.”

Miley Cyrus explained to the teens that Happy Hippie is all about “pouring love, happiness, and goodness into people.” It sure seems that Cyrus wants the public to pay attention to the homeless.

Over two years ago, Miley Cyrus asked a Los Angeles homeless man to accept her MTV VMA Video of the Year award on her behalf. The “Wrecking Ball” singer then explained she had done it to raise awareness for homeless youth.
