Adam Levine Focuses On Basketball As ‘The Voice’ Season 12 Premiere Date Is Announced

Adam Levine is focusing on basketball as he and his co-stars continue to film The Voice Season 11 — and prepare for The Voice 12.

On Instagram, following the birth of his first child, daughter Dusty Rose Levine, Adam Levine has shared a couple of recent updates with his fans and followers in regard to the Los Angeles Lakers’ recently kicked-off season.

“I’m more and more excited about these guys all the time….#golakers,” Adam Levine wrote on November 5, adding the unusually long second hash tag, “We’re the Lakers don’t be surprised expect more of it.”

Two days later, Adam Levine returned to Instagram where he shared a photo of an “I Love Basketball” meme and added the hash tag, “Go Lakers.”

Adam Levine has been a fan of the Lakers for years and in March of this year, amid rumors of his wife Behati Prinsloo’s pregnancy, the Maroon 5 singer confirmed their baby news with a post on Instagram about Prinsloo and their unborn child being his two favorite Lakers fans. In the photo, Prinsloo was sporting a red bikini and a Lakers hat.

Months later, on September 21, Adam Levine and his model wife welcomed their first child.

Throughout Adam Levine’s wife’s pregnancy, Adam Levine continued to tour with Maroon 5 and was spotted attending at least one Lakers game. After the child’s birth, however, Adam Levine kept a low profile for weeks before returning to his tour and to The Voice.

In other Adam Levine news, the singer and coach of The Voice is currently busy caring for his baby girl and wife as he tends to his filming duties on the NBC series, which will continue through the majority of next year.

Over the weekend, NBC released a statement regarding the upcoming 12th season and confirmed Adam Levine would be returning to his coaching role alongside a few returning cast members of the series.

“Monday nights are critical to our success,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement, via UPI on November 5, “and we’re going strong into the rest of the season with the return of The Voice in February followed by the premiere of Taken, along with additional episodes of our great new series Timeless.”

The statement continued on, revealing Gwen Stefani would be joining Adam Levine for Season 12 after taking two seasons off to tend to her new album and “This is What the Truth Feels Like Tour.”

“We’re very happy to welcome Gwen Stefani back to The Voice, along with Blake [Shelton,] Adam [Levine,] and our new coach Alicia Keys.”

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have starred on The Voice since its start but the women on the show have come and gone. Beginning with Season 7, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera began to alternate seasons as coach but ahead of Season 11, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys were brought to the show for the series’ first ever two-women, two-men panel.

Adam Levine and his co-star, Blake Shelton, have maintained a close relationship throughout their time on The Voice and after Levine’s baby arrived in September, Shelton’s girlfriend and co-star, Gwen Stefani, appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, where she revealed she had seen the baby via FaceTime.

To see more of Adam Levine and his current co-stars, including Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys, tune into new episodes of The Voice Season 11 airing on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on NBC.
